This blog is mostly an archive. I come here sometimes. I won't be deleting it, I post occasionally, but realistically, treat my posts as an archive. Even my more informative posts. I've grown since I've written many of these posts. I've been working to move on from the know-it-all tone I originally wrote with. This can be difficult because typically my inspiration is something I personally disagree with, but I am working on it. I have found in the last year or so that I have come full circle in my astrological practice and I try to blend traditional techniques with the softness of modern astrology.

You can find me on Twitter where I mostly write lunar forecasts in a much gentler tone than I used to. Twitter isn't a great format due to brevity, but I'm figuring myself out. One day I will be writing again, I just have to reconnect with my muses.

This blog isn't closed, I'm just providing an update. That being said, if I come up with more writing, it will likely go to a new tumblr that better reflects where I'm at now.

It's almost Gemini season and the amount of ppl I know who are Geminis crowding my Google calendar as an Aquarius is debilitating

Running so fast you can't breathe but the most alive you ever felt. A smile that blooms while running, teeth that glare underneath wild hair flowing as you run. A feeling you need to do something. Walking with purpose. Movement you mean with every part of your body. Coffee you spit out while laughing. A bad joke that's good. You skipping loudly on the sidewalk as everyone smiles looking past. A soul that's vibrant and pops pops pops.

Published in 2019, this article about late astrologer André Barbault's planetary cycle index blew my mind, changed my worldview, made me want to study mundane astrology more. For those who don't know, Barbault predicted a pandemic breaking out in 2020 – which we now know as covid-19 – back in 2011. Per this method, they project the pandemic's end in 2024, and the latter half of this decade is slated to become better.

The annual numbers calculated for the Barbault Index use a basic method of measuring cyclical synodic phase relationships between two heavenly bodies (e.g., say, of the Sun and Moon to each other in their 28-day cycle from New Moon to First Quarter, Full Moon, Last Quarter, to the next New Moon).
Astrologers use this basic monthly, synodic cyclic relationship between the Sun and Moon as a schematic template that relates to every creative and growth process. Measuring the angles from the faster-moving body (in this case, the Moon) to the slower or stationary body as this cyclic relationship unfolds (the Sun), yields basic information about differing stages of natural cycles of becoming. These cycles and stages correlate with the organic growth process: a seed is planted at the conjunction of the two heavenly bodies (0°), it germinates and grows in progressive phases of: creative support (60°), crisis in becoming (90°), ease of transition (120°), correction (135-150°), and a peak in objective realization and fulfillment at opposition (180°).
From insemination (New Moon) and germination, the Moon waxes during the opening hemicycle, giving form to the new creation, growing in light as she travels away from the Sun, to First Quarter (90° angle between Moon and Sun, an opening growth crisis phase), and then to peak visibility and bloom (Full Moon) of 180°. Then follows the waning hemicycle marked by the various angular phase relationships with a closing peak crisis phase at the Last Quarter Moon (270°). Next is the balsamic phase as the moon darkens in dissipation of the cycle, and prepares for a return to Source, and a new seeding at the next lunation, or New Moon.

New Moon in Pisces! 🐟🌑💥

This new moon is occuring on 3/2/2022 at 10:34am at 12 degrees Pisces. It is bringing up a lot of heightened sensitivity and emotions. It carries with it a lot of powerful spiritual energy. It is the last new moon of the astrological year. Pisces wants to remind us that we must release to be able to start anew. It allows for a lot of positive healing and transcendence. A lot may be breaking through the surface. We need to imagine a different way to navigate old patterns, release toxicity. Don’t carry it with you to the new astrological year. It is conjunct Jupiter, which can bring lots of blessings and positivity if expressed well. There are several other conjuncts. Saturn/Mercury and Mars/Venus/Pluto. It means that communication will have serious karmic undertones. Your words carry weight. And that there is a lot of power to this new moon. It’s really all about what you do with all this energy and power. Your thoughts and desires and words can come to life. Make sure to be really tapping into what you want and need and to speak your truth. Use this energy to truly let go of anything that doesn’t serve and embrace what’s needed. 💫

It's Pisces season

Swim without water, see without light, dissolve negative emotional patterns, transcend pain. Connect to the collective without connecting to the ego. The end of the astrological year sums and encapsulates everything and nothing all at a once. A time to reflect and let go to prepare for the beginning of the astrological year.

Anonymous asked:

dear ms m, is now with both venus and mercury rx a bad time to start a reading/ painting/ creative writing blog? i'd like to start it now because i have a lot of free time right now and that will change in a month, but i could wait. i'd really like it to be both fun and successful (in terms of engagement etc). i'm a gemini sun, libra rising and gemini venus which is natally retrograde, if that helps.

With natal Venus retrograde you’re already attuned to what she’s up to right now!! It’s the Mercury Rx I’d worry about, especially since you’re a solar Gemini. I think you can probably go on ahead if you keep Merc Rx in mind - be flexible and try not to commit to anything important. Blessings, XOXOXO

Caution: Mercury is in its "Storm" and stations retrograde on Friday.

This has potential to be a day during which we can make a lot of progress, even with a delusional Mars-Neptune square. That’s because our Taurus Moon has her feet (hooves?) planted firmly on the ground and can see right through all the bullshit. Our partners can help us out with that, too. Beginning at 16:53 UT today, and lasting clear to 03:08 UT on Thursday, we’re in an Opportunity Period - “ This productive OP is good for ambitious projects, but with Mercury moving slowly, concentrate on practical matters.”

What's happening when:

  • Lunar Phase: First Quarter Moon (take action, build new structures)
  • Moon/Taurus
  • Mars/Sagittarius square Neptune/Pisces, 2:43 pm MST
  • Sun/Capricorn conjunct Juno/Capricorn, 2:50 pm MST

Looking ahead to Wednesday: calm

Please note that MST is seven hours behind UT. All data gleaned from Llewellyn's 2022 Daily Planetary Guide, and the Capricorn Solstice issue of "The Mountain Astrologer."

Pisces
A processing delay on their face. Looking up into the night sky and seeing the aurora light up. A head popping up at a party, gesturing you over with a tilt and a charming smile. The pink clouds glowing over the ocean as the sun is setting. Blinking your eyes against the morning light and then covering your head again under your blanket. Kind eyes like crescents to a long story. Being told they look just like someone they know and laughing it off graciously with a tap on the ashtray. A sketch left on a ipad as they get up for tea. The happy montage of a couple smiling and laughing in a romantic movie before the conflict hits. A soul so full and pervasive that it is the manifestation of everything alive and yet alive.

Tarotscopes from December 26th, through January 1st, 2022

Tarotscopes from December 26th, through January 1st, 2022. Feel free to check rising, sun, and moon signs.

Aries – The Hierophant Reversed shows that those answers you were looking for are deep within your heart. You enter this New Year with a lot of drive and passion. Do not let those criticisms from others get in your way. Do what you love because you don’t need anyone’s validation.

Taurus – Don’t be too impulsive with the Knight of Wands Reversed. You feel ambitious and confident right now, so don’t think that will go away easily. 2022 opens you up for more opportunities. Trust your process and take things slow to prevent mistakes.

Gemini – The Two of Cups in this week’s reading shows that you could be ready to start looking towards love in 2022. As the nodes move out of your sign, you could feel a lot more prepared to find a partner (if you are interested). Relationships get stronger now for those who are currently in one.

Cancer – Be transparent with the Seven of Swords Reversed. Sometimes we refuse to see the truth around us regarding friends or family. As we enter the New Year, this should be your time to find the trust needed to reach those dreams. Don’t let the negativity from others bring you down.

Leo – So many options and so little time with the Seven of Cups in your reading. As we await the New Year, you might be tempted to start many things. Perhaps you might have a lot of romantic offers if you are single. Be patient, take your time before diving in and get to know them better.

Virgo – This Holiday season breezed by so it makes sense that the Eight of Wands Reversed is in your reading. Embrace what is to come, don’t feel too anxious about it. 2022 is less than a week away, start thinking about those resolutions and what you would like to accomplish.

Libra – You will enter this New Year with a lot more optimism as The Fool appears in your reading. New chapters, new goals, and a brand new vision. Saturn will make you confident and fearless. You have the patience needed to triumph.

Scorpio – It seems many people are going to be a lot more financially focused for 2022. The Page of Pentacles Reversed is a sign you are considering new ways to attract more wealth. Start your game plan and find what you are passionate about.

Sagittarius – A commanding role with the King of Pentacles in this week’s reading. Last week’s court card pushed you on a new path of self-love and discovery. This week you have the energy to pursue whatever you envision for this New Year.

Capricorn – An energy of power will follow for this new year with The Emperor Reversed in your reading. Consider looking deep within for confidence. You have your eyes on the prize, now is the moment to believe it.

Aquarius – With the Two of Swords Reversed, you might need more time to come to terms with making a decision. Remember to practice patience and trust yourself a little more. You enter 2022 with a lot more maturity and strength. Remember that this is your time to shine if you allow yourself to.

Pisces – The Six of Wands right before the year ends is a great sign to showcase the positive virtues you have. You are a hard worker and the path to success. Carry this positive mentality for the new year.

There’s an early (for the US) Opportunity Period between 01:07 UT and 08:39 UT; “take advantage of this productive time.” But presiding over the day is the sextile between Mercury and Neptune. This is a big help with “the Christmas spirit,” bringing us a deeper and kinder understanding. It’s extremely creative in its verbal expression, too. The Moon moving into Libra also makes us a little more sensitive to others. We may have some regrets to deal with - and we should admit them, but not wallow in them.

What's happening when:

  • Lunar Phase: Disseminating Moon (teach, share; ease up on efforts)
  • Moon/Virgo, void of course 1:39 am MST
  • Moon enters Libra, 9:24 am MST
  • Mercury/Capricorn sextile Neptune/Pisces, 2:29 pm MST
  • Lunar Phase: Last Quarter Moon (turn away from, tear down old structures), 5:32 Libra, 7:24 pm MST

Looking ahead to Monday: balanced and fair?

Please note that MST is seven hours behind UT. All data gleaned from Llewellyn's 2021 Daily Planetary Guide, and the Capricorn Solstice 2021/2022 issue of "The Mountain Astrologer."
