That’s cuz this is the exact opposite of what you wanna do with ADHD. If you take away all input your brain is going to shut down. It has nothing to do. You need to find the right passive secondary input that will allow your brain to function enough to start what you need to start. What counts is different for everyone. Snacking, White noise, music, stim toys, podcasts, wiggling. A thing that will give you stimulation but isn’t enough to totally satisfy it so your brain wants to do more. Then you push yourself to do the task because your brain finally has all the pieces it needs to function.

Don’t force yourself into focusing the same way a neurotypical does. It will only hurt you. Find new ways that work for your neurotype.

this is why when i get stuck doing hw i go play video games. i learned a while ago the loss of study time from just doing something else for a bit first is a Lot less than trying to push through it for hours on end

this is also why during lectures i switch back and forth between using my tablet for notes vs mobile games. the serotonin/dopamine i get from it helps keep me from crashing on long work days

the fact that so often ppl are told to read shakespeare rather than watch it is so weird. like yeah sure reading it can help u get the language and stuff. but it’s meant to be watched. imagine your favorite movie or tv show episode. and then imagine how much less fun and interesting it would be if u just read the script instead of watching it. Shakespeare meant for his works to be watched and performed not read. not saying u can’t get something out of reading them obviously. just saying the way it’s taught and presented to ppl is often fundamentally flawed.

lets use this as an opportunity for learning and growth guys. By platforming Israel, Eurovision legitimizes and enables their genocide. In the same way that Russia has been banned from participating from the Olympics in an act of solidarity with Ukraine, Eurovision had the opportunity to stand in solidarity with Palestine. Instead, they have chosen to associate themselves with Israel, a violent colonial state, uplifting them to an international stage to do pr for themselves.

In the same way, all contestants in Eurovision had the opportunity to condemn Israel or call for their removal from the competition. I'm sorry because I know people get a lot of joy from the music but in a situation as dire as Palestine neutrality is functionally the same as complacency.

I ask you to boycott Eurovision in solidarity with the 34,535 Palestinians who have lost their lives in the last few months. The 77,704 who have been wounded. The 1.5 million survivors, most of them displaced and mourning, who are packed into Gaza right now. Have the empathy and willpower to be serious for like 10 seconds and recognize that you can find entertainment elsewhere.

And for the rest of his life The Most Annoying Rooster lives happily ever after as an Only Moderately Annoying Peacock, and if any bigger bird tries to do anything to the little hen, he will peck its fucking eyes out, because that's his momma who was always there for him, so he's always there for her.
