fandom sucks now I never see PSAs for writers about what can and cannot be used as lube
finding out about lube is the worst thing that happened to the smut-writing community. back in the day I’d get reports back from the trenches about stories where the characters used violin rosin for sex.

anyway the actual point of fandom is to inspire each other. reading each other's fics and admiring each other's art and saying wow i love this and i feel something and i want to invoke this in other people, i want to write a sentence that feels like a meteor shower, i want to paint a kiss with such tenderness it makes you ache, i want to create something that someone else somewhere will see it and think oh, i need to do that too, right now. i am embracing being a corny cunt on main to say inspiring each other is one of the things humanity is best at and one of the things fandom is built for and i think that's beautiful

I really did - I went to a spa inspired by Roman baths and had a massage with a friend who happily had a whole chat with me about how Stede Bonnet is the only person we could imagine who would spend ~£500 on a couple's red wine bath (a real treatment the spa offer) and that Mary would absolutely have refused to go with him, but Ed would have been absolutely delighted by how fancy it made him feel.
