“Lady Y/N, are you hiding?” Doctor Cornelius teased as he came to stand beside you on the outskirts of the party.
“Of course not, Doctor, you know I love a party,” you replied, fondly. Although your heart was feeling anything but as you watch Caspian spin one of the visiting princesses around the dance floor. It’d been like that all evening - as soon as the princesses arrived, Caspian hadn’t even spent more than a minute by your side. You supposed it made sense, after all, since the princesses were there to try and win his hand.
Every now and then you were able to catch his eye before he was dragged off by a difference princess or an advisor, so you’d made your goblet your best friend for the evening and tucked yourself against one of the hall’s pillars. You didn’t even really want the wine.
“And how do you find our guests?” Doctor Cornelius inquired. Remembering you were in polite company, you bit your tongue.
“I think any one of them would make a fine Queen of Narnia. They seem to like King Caspian and they’re all advantageous matches,” you replied diplomatically, and Doctor Cornelius hummed in agreement.
“I would not go around saying this to anybody, but I think you’d make a rather fine Queen of Narnia, if you were ever so inclined.” You turned to look at your teacher in shock. There was a little glint in his eye. “Caspian already treats you like a queen.”
“Caspian treats me like a friend,” you countered quickly, your heart pounding in your chest. Doctor Cornelius held up a placating hand, and you quickly set you goblet down on a passing tray. “If you’ll excuse me.”
You left your teacher, skirting the boundaries of the banquet hall towards the exit and the covered walkway, doing your best to go undetected. You sighed in relief as you emerged into the dark, the air much cooler and refreshing out here.
You, a Queen of Narnia? It was not something you’d allow yourself to consider.
You didn’t covet power. You coveted the seat beside Caspian, his hand in yours, his body beside you in bed every night. Not to mention, you’d be the least advantageous match available against all the glittering, simpering princesses in the banquet hall. You certainly didn’t have as much to offer in terms of land or resources.
“Lady Y/N? Where are you going?”
You stopped in your tracks at the sound of his voice behind you, clenching your hands. You’d hoped you could sneak away unnoticed, but you should’ve know better.
“Caspian, you should be in the banquet hall,” you sighed, turning to face him in the empty walkway. “Don’t worry about me, I’m just going to my rooms.”
“Are you alright?” he pressed, coming closer. He didn’t stop until he was just a hand’s breadth away from you. Caspian always liked to be so close.
“I feel…” the words you wanted to say caught in your throat, and you swallowed the lump in your throat, “…a little under the weather, is all. I think I might’ve drunk too much wine and eaten too little.”
Caspian narrowed his eyes at you, and you hoped you were convincing enough in your lie. Here wasn’t exactly where you’d wanted your feelings for him to come to light.
“Is there anything I can do?”
Your shoulders relaxed, and you offered him a grateful smile as you readjusted his jacket’s collar. “Make my excuses for me, would you, my king?” You asked, looking up at him.
Caspian’s broad hands came up to cover yours, giving them an affectionate squeeze. “Of course, anything you want,” he replied softly.
“Your guests will be missing you, Caspian,” you said pointedly, looking over his shoulder towards the door to the banquet hall. You slipped your hands from beneath his as you stepped backwards and away. “Go back to them. I’ll be fine.”
With a tight smile and without a second look, you turned and disappeared from Caspian’s sight around the corner, jealousy leaving a bitter taste on your tongue.
You gave the door an annoyed glare as it was banged on three times, breaking the quiet solitude you’d been enjoying. A peek out the window showed it was well into the night. When you’d returned to your chambers, your lady’s maid had helped you out of your fine dress and into your nightgown, stoking the fire and turning down your bed before she curtsied and left for the night.
Your mind was still churning with the images of the princesses with their hands lingering on Caspian’s arms and the wide smile on his face, and you’d decided bed wasn’t an option yet. Your head was spinning too much to sleep. Instead, you’d curled up on the fainting couch in front of the large fireplace and immersed yourself in a book, driving the images from your mind.
Sighing heavily, you adjusted the blanket around your shoulders as you shuffled to the door, ready to give an earful to whoever was on the other side. You’d been rather engrossed in your book, and you weren’t pleased about being interrupted.
“I do hope that whatever you’re-“ Your voice cut out when you yanked open to door to reveal your visitor. “Caspian?”
“Am I interrupting something?” He teased from the hallway, and you quickly ushered him in, an apologetic smile on your face. It would not do for Caspian to be seen lingering outside your chamber doors, not with guests in the castle.
“Sorry, just wasn’t expecting anyone,” you replied, shutting the for behind him. “Is the party over?”
“I think the general rule is that once the king leaves, everyone leaves. I just wanted to see how you were feeling.”
You offered him a thankful smile. “That's thoughtful of you, and I'm feeling much better." Caspian smiled back, his shoulders relaxing slightly. "Did you have fun?”
For some reason, despite how close you and Caspian were, you suddenly felt like you didn’t know how to talk to him.
“I had a pleasant evening,” Caspian offered.
“Good…and how did you find the princesses? Any one of them catch your fancy?” You asked, trying to keep it light as you turned to walk back towards the fire. You didn’t want to know, but you couldn’t help yourself.
“I’ll admit that they were all good company, as they learnt to be…”
You smirked a little at that.
“…but I don’t find my current attentions being swayed,” Caspian replied, a small smirk of his own toying with the corner of his lips as he slowly walked behind you, further into your room, and you nodded absentmindedly.
You paused, turning and squinting at him in confusion. In the firelight, his handsome face took on a dreamy quality. “‘Current attentions’?” you repeated. “You didn’t tell me you had attentions for someone! You have to tell me who - we tell each other everything!”
You baulked at Caspian’s question, swallowing heavily as you turned to stare at the fire instead. “O-Of course we do,” you replied.
Your heart threatened to beat out of your chest as Caspian came closer, not stopping until his chest was just touching yours. Gently, he pushed the blanket from your shoulders so it pooled around the backs of your feet, leaving you in just your long, finely embroidered nightgown. You stayed frozen, unable to do anything but stare up at him.
Your breath caught in your throat as Caspian’s hand came up to gently cup your cheek, and your eyelids fluttered as he leaned closer.
“Are you sure we do?” he whispered, earnestly.
A little whimper slipped past your lips. “I-“
“Tell me if we do.” His lips ghosted across yours so lightly, you weren’t even sure if they actually touched. Caspian’s voice was so gravelly it made you weak at the knees, the pull he had over your body impossibly strong.
“I’m telling you now,” you murmured, gingerly reaching up and tracing the seam of his lips with your fingertips. Beneath your touch, Caspian’s lips slowly curved into a smile.
His dark eyes flicked to yours briefly before he closed the gap between you, and you sighed contentedly as Caspian’s lips finally covered yours.
You indulged yourself and ran your fingers through his hair, Caspian responding by winding an arm around your waist and pulling you in until you were so connected, you could’ve been one entity. You could taste Narnia’s signature sweetened wine on his tongue, and your skin prickled deliciously with the heat of the fire and Caspian’s body against yours.
You let out a squeak of surprise as he swept you up into his arms like a bride, grinning between kisses as he carried you to your bed and set you down softly, crowding over you. Your legs fell apart easily for him, your body immediately seeking his heat out as he settled into the cradle of your thighs.
Your head spun as you found yourself in a position you’d only ever dreamed about, the rasp of his stubble against your neck as he mouthed at your skin better than you thought possible.
As Caspian’s hand brushed the outside of your thigh, pushing up your nightdress so he could hook your bare leg over his hip, you pushed on his shoulders. You needed air, the weight of the situation literally too heavy to ignore. Caspian frowned in confusion.
“What is it?” He asked, his voice hoarse.
“Caspian, if we do this-“
“I know,” he panted, his thumb brushing over your cheekbone. “I’m sorry, I was going too fast. I should’ve-“
You shushed him softly, your fingers playing with the ends of his hair. You felt his shoulders heave as he took a deep breath, his eyes shut. When they reopened, they shone in the faint firelight, dark and bottomless.
“I know what I want,” Caspian promised, tracing your bottom lip with his thumb. His voice was soft, but firm. “Is this what you want?”
You stared up at him, mouth slightly ajar, unable to find the words to say. Whether that was from his weight between your legs or from your recent lack of air to your brain, you weren’t entirely sure. The decision you’d never entertained had to be made now, in your bed of all places.
You quickly settled with surging up to kiss him, dragging Caspian back down with you so he could pin you to the mattress with his weight, and the loud moan he made pulled giggles from your chest.
“You have to be quiet - someone may hear you!” You hushed as you shoved his ornate jacket off his shoulders.
“I don’t care,” Caspian panted, diving back in to suck the taste of sweetened wine from your tongue. The hand on your thigh climbed further up to the bare skin of your waist, and a shiver ran across your skin at his burning touch. Your stomach flipped when you realised you were scant inches from your arousal being totally exposed to him. “I want everyone to know about us.”
“Even the princesses? Your advisors? Doctor Cornelius?” you teased. Just the thought made more wetness pool in your core.
“Even them,” he murmured, the broad hand on your hip flexing.
You gasped, your body shifting against his deliciously, and you hungrily swallowed the moan Caspian made as you felt the bulge in his trousers grind against your core. You repeated the action, Caspian’s hand guiding you as he moved in tandem and left you panting into his mouth.
The familiar coiling tension in your core began to grow, but everything felt heightened now that you had a partner. The thoughts of Caspian that'd satisfied you in the past paled in comparison.
Impatiently, you tugged Caspian’s shirt out of his trousers, his hair falling into his eyes as he yanked it over his head and returned to ravish your neck.
Your eyes rolled back into your head with pleasure, and your hands took the opportunity to explore the shifting muscles of his back as your hips continued to move against one another. But it wasn’t enough, your body demanding more. Emboldened by Caspian’s reaction, you bunched up the rest of your dress and popped the button on his trousers, your hand sneaking beneath the waistband and relishing in the skin-to-skin contact.
“Y/N…” Caspian breathed, and you never knew someone could say your name like that.
You grinned, giddy, at the sight of his eyes squeezed shut in restraint as your hand pulled his hardening cock from its confines and stroked him to full hardness, his soft mouth hanging open. Once again, you struck by the fact this was actually happening.
“We can take our time later,” you promised, tilting your face up to place a peck on his lips.
“I’ll spend hours taking care of you,” he responded, chasing your kisses. You pouted as you felt the warm hand on your waist disappear, only to reappear as he replaced your hand on his cock with his own. Teasingly, Caspian dragged the head of his cock through your wet folds, and you whined.
“Want to hear your body sing for me, feel every shiver you make beneath me,” he murmured, dragging it through a second time, before lining himself up with your entrance. “Want to count how many times you’ll finish before your voice gives out.”
“Caspian,” you groaned, desperately bucking your hips up in an effort to take him already. You felt him grin against your lips as he pushed forward, your warm walls slowly adjusting to his size as you panted shallowly. Caspian’s hand returned to your hip, his grip hard as he tried to keep a hold of his own sanity as you whined.
Once he was fully sheathed inside, you simply laid for a moment, embracing, breathing heavily through the sensation together.
“You’d better propose to me properly after this,” you cracked, and Caspian huffed a laugh into the side of your neck.
“I already have a few ideas how,” he admitted, lifting his head up. His grin made your heart soar.
Impressed, you rolled your hips in little movements, encouraging Caspian to move. He dipped down to press sweet kisses to your lips as his hips slowly thrust into you, distracting you from the momentary discomfort. But it melted away quickly, your whines and moans speeding up Caspian’s movements.
Not before long, a thin sheen of sweat covered you, your body meeting Caspian’s move for move as if you’d dance this dance a thousand times before. He hiked the leg you had over his hip higher, the next thrust of his cock into your core making you cry out as he pushed in deeper than before.
“Do that again,” you whined, Caspian’s grip on your leg tightening.
Sliding a hand around there nape of his neck and pulling him in closer, you snuck your other hand between you to rub at your clit, the sudden pleasure making your hips buck wildly. Your climax grew quickly, your hot walls fluttering around Caspian’s cock as your body began to jerk beneath his.
“C-Caspian,” you panted softly, “I’m not g-going to last much longer.”
“Neither, my love,” he responded, equally breathless, and you mewled at the pet name, your fingers moving faster. “Let me see you finish? You’re so beautiful - show me.”
You fell apart at Caspian’s words, your back arching off the bed as your body tensed and your climb washed over you. Your mouth fell open in a silent gasp, your release leaking around Caspian’s cock as he continued to work you through it. Your walls clamped around him as you shook, Caspian burying his face in your neck as he held onto the very last shreds of his sanity. One look at your blissed out face, and he’d be gone.
You whimpered at the sensitivity as he slipped from your core, but watched in awe as Caspian took himself in his fist again. He barely managed a few tight pumps before he climaxed with a sigh of your name and released over your lower stomach and core, his chest heaving as he came back to himself.
“Are you alright?” You asked timidly, stroking your fingers along the length of his jaw.
“I’m incredible,” he replied, with a breathless smile. “Are you alright? Do you hurt?”
You shook your head. Your body felt warm and loose, a pleasant tingle crawling beneath your skin. “I’m incredible too.”
Curiously, you swiped a finger through the mess Caspian had left- something like thinned cream, and brought it to your lips. Your eyes met Caspian’s as you sucked your finger clean, his eyes almost black as he traced the shape of your kiss-swollen lips. You scrunched up your nose at the taste - too salty and bitter for your tongue.
“I think you’d taste better,” he chuckled, nipping at your lip. “Stay right here.”
You pouted as Caspian slid from between your legs and off the bed, your eyes following the line of his back as he disappeared into your bathing chamber, fixing his trousers as he went.
You took the opportunity to rearrange your dress, trying to give yourself a degree of modesty while also avoiding getting it messy with Caspian’s release. He quickly reappeared with a damp cloth, and you shuddered as he dragged it over your sensitive skin to clean you, the cool water springing goosebumps.
After you were clean and Caspian had chucked the cloth away somewhere, he settled back between your legs, his chin resting on the flushed skin of your sternum as he gazed up at you. You lazily ran a hand through his messy locks, your stomach fluttering when you remembered that, soon, you could do this whenever you wished.
“What will you tell the princesses?” You asked softly.
“That, while I’ve enjoyed their company, my heart has already been made,” he replied honestly, a fingertip drawing swirling patterns just above the neckline of your nightgown. Your heart skipped a beat at his words.
“You do realise someone will notice you not in your chambers in the morning?” You asked, swallowing the lump of emotion in your throat. “You can’t stay in here all night. Not yet.”
Caspian pouted up at you. “But may I stay a little while longer?”
“Just a little while longer,” you conceded, narrowing your eyes a little at him, and Caspian’s grin beamed in the dying light of the fire.
