Do you know what a human's most primitive emotion is?

Figuring the glance that the ladies shared was one of shock at Aeonā€™s actions, Isaac let it pass. If they were comfortable broaching the topic then Isaac would let them do it. Talking about Aevum just made his head hurt.
From the sounds of it, arbiters that did not comply had something on level with brainwashing or even beingĀ ā€˜resetā€™ the same way a computer was. Not a pleasant thought at all.Ā ā€œI donā€™t believe his powers extend into manipulating life forms, natural or not.ā€ He had seen Aeon call on Hermes or Amorini for assistance when it came to those matters, but it seemed to be a rare occurrence, thankfully. Brainwashing and mind control just didnā€™t sit well with Isaac.

Fashion, yes, this Isaac could speak on for days.Ā ā€œI suppose that would make it difficult, more so since lots of people donā€™t follow the popular trends. Where Iā€™m from itā€™s uncommon to find people straying from convention. Bright colours with multilayered suits and dresses is what the nobility wear with plainer dressed and shirts for commoners. Here, Iā€™ll show you.ā€ Setting his drink aside for now, Isaac pulled his G.O.A.S.T. out of the pouch on his hip and set it on the counter. From it he was able to bring up images of his world taken from balls and busy market places, showing the range of outfits the people wore.Ā ā€œAs my father is a duke I am more inclined to the dressier stuff, though through my travels to other worlds has introduced me to more sleek styled suits and clothing.ā€ Much like what he was currently wearing.
Isaac chuckled at her comment, looking to Decim to see if was true.Ā ā€œIndeed. From what I understand only thoseĀ ā€˜scheduledā€™ to be here may enter. I am very lucky to have Decimā€™s permission to enter so freely.ā€ Though he was always sure to bring a gift, as was polite. His parents had been sure to raise him right when it came to visiting others.
The offer from Quin made Isaacā€™s eye light up as he suddenly turned towards her.Ā ā€œI would be delighted!ā€ Remembering his manners her turned back to Castra, who seemed to have more clout than Quin or Decim, and asked,Ā ā€œIf thatā€™s alright. The world you all do here is very delicate, so I wouldnā€™t want to be underfoot.ā€

ā€œI see, I see...ā€ The skull-toting arbiter continued to eye Isaac, gently rolling her neck to release a small crick. ā€œWell, that must be a bit comforting then. Iā€™m sure your employer having complete control wouldnā€™t bode well for some.ā€ The arbiters didnā€™t exactly lack free will to the point of brainwashing, thankfully. There was just more of a particular mindset many were encouraged to undertake to make the job easier.

Actually, it may have been brainwashing, in a way. Though, that was a can of worms she wasnā€™t quite willing to open during her break time.

Onto a lighter subject, the three others present in the bar immediately seemed interested in what their guest had to show them. Even Decim, who had been largely ignoring their conversation, glanced over to see what was happening.

Quin quietly ā€˜oohā€™d at the beautiful fabrics and designs, while Castra pushed her helmet a smidge out of her way to get a proper view. The brunette turned wide-eyed to the young man.

ā€œSo you wear stuff like this in your world?ā€ She pointed at one of the noblemen shown in the photographs. ā€œYou travel around so much, have you ever started a trend or something? Seems like a lot more fun than seeing the same-old, boring 100 floors every day.ā€ A grin cracks onto her face as she looks back to his photos. ā€œYeah, yeah... I mean, you have to deal with people more than I do. So I guess thereā€™s that trade-off.ā€ Always the sociable one, isnā€™t she...

Now actually paying attention to them for the moment, the bartender gave his confirmation with a nod as he picked up another glass to clean.

ā€œAs I told you, I am pleased to have your company anytime.ā€ He turned back to his work as they began to talk about the tour. Quin had also finished her liquor and haphazardly slid her glass towards Decim, who easily caught it and placed it down.

The woman in the lab coat yawned and stretched, obviously not caring as much about formalities after a couple of drinks. This earned a disapproving look from Castra, but she let it go in favor of answering his question.

ā€œUnless you ran off purposefully trying to cause trouble, Iā€™m sure showing you around where we work would be interesting for you. Every floor is very different from what youā€™ve been seeing here at Quindecim.ā€ She pushed herself off of her stool to stand, revealing how short she really was. ā€œOnce youā€™re finished up here, Quin and I can show you what else there is to see.ā€

ā€œOh? No, Iā€¦I donā€™t mind.ā€ The scarf stilled in her hands, and carefully, she smoothed her thumb over the fabric, blue eyes clouding over with regret.Ā ā€œYou see, his name was Regis Marks. He was my fiance. Heā€¦Well, he died young; the day of the ceremony, in fact.ā€
Her voice caught in her throat at those words, and she found herself quite unable to speak for some time. Sheā€™d had quite a hard time getting over his death - still hadnā€™t, in fact, which was precisely why sheā€™d come here in the first place. Maybe seeing him again, hearing words of reassurance and comfort spoken in his own voice, would help ease her heart.
ā€œI just wanted to see Reggieā€™s smile, hear him talkā€¦And I should probably mention, Clavis, that his soul went missing after he died. I eventually came to learn that it had been found and had subsequently been sent here, not to Heaven.ā€ She wouldnā€™t even considerĀ the possibility that he had gone to Hell. Oh, no, not for a moment.Ā ā€œAs corny as it sounds, I could use some closure.ā€

He stood calmly at attention as she explained her goals of appearing in The Tower. Dani was clearly of supernatural origin, she had said so herself, but... she curiously appeared to share some sentiments with mortals... Interesting.Ā

Clavis couldnā€™t relate to her desire to seek out someone already moved on, but seeing if they could be of assistance to her seemed harmless. However, the probability of them of actually fulfilling the request was a whole other story...

Too bad that guy from the 15th floor wasnā€™t here right now. He would probably be better suited for her to speak to.

ā€œMmn... So, you want to see if thereā€™s a way to talk to him? That isnā€™t something Iā€™ve heard requested before... but since you bothered to come all the way here, I donā€™t see the ladies turning you away!ā€ Clavis spoke kindly, but with a matter-of-factness in his tone that didnā€™t portray any of the sympathy one should normally expect in this scenario. A palm cups his chin and the operator looks to the woman questioningly.

ā€œMissing? Seeing how overworked our system is these days, someone getting a bit lost probably isnā€™t that out of the question. Finding his memory bits may take some time, but it is worth a shot to see what can be dug up.ā€ He pauses thoughtfully.Ā

ā€œSo just talking to him will make you feel better?ā€
