POST PLUS IS COMING, WHETHER YOU WANT IT OR NOT!

Despite the fancy survey, changes to the UI and TOS reveal we’re getting the service in the future whether we want it or not. Obviously, Post+ is a terrible idea that is trying to bank revenue on user content. Unlike patreon or onlyfans, tumblr’s primary focus is on FAN content. The legality of this is NOT in the users favor and as the new tumblr TOS states, said users will be entirely liable for whatever legal matters arise.

SO WHAT ARE WE DOING?

Besides filling out the survey, it’s time to show tumblr we mean business and show our displeasure by hitting them where it hurts.

Ad revenue.

We’re proposing a 24 hour log off as phase one of this protest.

WHEN IS THE PROTEST?

AUGUST 6th, 2021        12 am Eastern Time (US)          5 am Greenwich Mean Time          6 am Central European Time          8 am Moscow Standard Time          1 pm Australian Western Time          2 pm Japan Standard Time          3:30 pm Australian Central Time          4 pm Australian Eastern Time

AUGUST 5th, 2021

11 pm Central Time (US)          10 pm Mountain Time (US)            9 pm Pacific Time (US)

THE END TIME IS 24 HOURS FROM START TIME!!!

So no posting, no queues, no likes, and no reblogs!

WHAT IF I CAN’T/WHAT ELSE CAN I DO?

Like this post and share it AS MANY TIMES AS POSSIBLE. Use the hashtags #tumblrlogoff2021 or #postplusprotest on ANY and ALL social media.

WILL THIS WORK?

Maybe, maybe not. It’s an attempt at doing SOMETHING.

BECAUSE I’M A TIRED IDIOT, USE THIS TO DOUBLE CHECK YOUR TIME ZONE!!!!

As much as I hate to say this because this hellsite is a big part of my life, I think we should all participate in this. And you know what, it’s actually because this hellsite means so much to me that I think we should do this. post+ will hurt content creators and possibly shut down tumblr itself (though they’re much better protected than we could ever be). Don’t use post+. Use the link above and find when you should log off to help

I’m usually 100% against blackouts, but i’m happy to take part in this one.

I feel like they’re aware of our displeasure so much to the fact that they had to post a ‘dont bully our betas’ on their page (seriously, don’t. Don’t be that guy.) but it can’t hurt to continue to let them know how horrible this idea is. They’re gonna do it anyways but at least we can try.

Wowie another post miraculously appeared a day later!

When I woke up this morning I ran to the five free fates then on my last wish kazuha FINALLY came home.. all it took was me breaking my f2p streak.. hahaaa. I’m so sorry future me.

Anyways, in celebration I drew this boy in a sicky position!

I’m gonna say that this occurred maybe.. a month after Kazuha joined mummy Beidou? Perhaps at the time he hadn’t gotten used to being heavily exposed to stormy ocean weather, so he caught something while on board. Beidou spotted him on the deck early one morning having a sneezing fit. It looked like he was trying to be discreet about it, as he went to the most isolated spot on the ship. She went up to him and gently felt his forehead for a fever. She then encouraged him to go back to bed. Kazuha gave little effort in protesting, sniffling as he shuffled downstairs.

Unlike how I hc a lot of my favs, I imagine him to be a lot more admissive, I guess because he’s so calm he finds no use in being in denial? Sickness should run its course, there’s no use in interfering.

Though, this leads me to imagine he’d be a lot more less reserved when in the high throes of fever, at least with Beidou. Maybe he’d occasionally grunt in discomfort, whine even, or leave a wrist over his eyes to block away light? Or if it were really bad, he’d whisper out his discomfort without caring about who does/doesn’t hear. He’d act completely normal after though, and his demeanour would go back to being settled.

- As for sneezing, he seems to me like two different kinds: the first one being small kitten sneezes. But, the sneezes always occur in twos or threes (fits when he’s sick). They’d cause him to keep his hands hesitantly over his face for awhile, as he’d be unsure if theyre going to be rapid fire or drawn out. When he is finished he’d be left exhausted, contrary to how light they sound.

The second option would be a relatively light sneeze, always in coming singles. When sick however, they can cause him to double over in exhaustion from fast fits of three-four. In my opinion though I’m leaning more towards the first (or perhaps both depending on cause? Lemme know what u think!) Either way, if anyone was around to make a comment, he’d simply brush it off while wiping his irritated nose, or a tear from his eye.

One more thing, he has dog allergies. 100%. I can’t tell you exactly how or why, but I brought him to my teapot with a bunch of dogs in it and suddenly it just made sense. He is also a cat.

God, I haven’t been so passionate over headcanons in awhile ;; enjoy hehe

Could you write Yuri P. from yoi passing out from exhaustion? He seems like the type to work himself into the ground.

He sure does, man. Here you go, I hope this suffices!

Post-series fic commences under the cut. A little over 1k.

Would you ever continue your story with Yurio having pneumonia? It's soooooo good. Maybe Victor and Yuri come to visit him, much to his displeasure. Either way, keep up the great work. I love your fics!

Sure thing, dude! Thank you so much for your nice words. Here you go, I hope it suffices.

Little over 1k fic commences under the cut.

do you think you could write a fic with yakov and lilia taking care of a sick yuri p? everybody's always talking about how victor and yuuri are like his parents but he's obviously grown close with his coaches. from that little clip we got to see of yuri bringing them pirozhki to how proud of they were when he broke the record. i'd just really like to see them taking care of him, please.

Combined these two asks into one fic! It got a little long, about 3k, so there might be some typos. As much as I enjoy pneumonia I’m not super experienced writing it, so I hope it’s okay. Also my first time writing Lilia and Yakov. Anyway, fic commences under the cut.

Figure Skating Injuries 101

Hi, there! I’m Andie and I’m here to talk about skating injuries with you.

After nearly a year seeing both writers and artists in the Yuri on Ice fandom portraying figure skating injuries the wrong way I’ve decided to write this quick guide to explain why scenes like these are not a result of skating:

I’m an artistic roller skater on the intermediate level, I’ve been skating for a year now and won gold in Seniors (Intemediate Level) in the local internal artistic roller skating championship. I’ve ice skated a couple of times before but I’ve never taken proper classes since there’s no ice rink in my city.

While I’m talking about ways to treat most common accidents I am by no means a specialist on the matter. If you hurt yourself skating you should tell your coach and, in serious cases, go to a hospital to have your injuries properly treated.

If you have any questions regarding this topic I’ll be more than happy to help!

Most serious injuries happen outside of the rinks. All skaters I know have broken limbs while doing things completely unrelated to skating. That’s because one of the first lessons skaters learn when they begin is how to fall in order not to hurt themselves (too much, at least).

When skating, your instinct is to keep your head as far from the floor/ice as possible, hence why a skater learns to fall on their knees/butt and hands. It takes some time, but after a couple of accident your body learns (the hard way) how to fall properly and you leave with maybe a bruise or two.

The best way to avoid serious injuries is to take time to properly warm-up off and on skates, not overpractice and, if possible, always practice under the supervision of a coach or instructor. Proper and suitable equipment is of extreme importance to your health and comfort!

Next, I’m going to share some injuries experiences from me and my fellow rink mates.

COMMON INJURIES IN FIGURE SKATING:

  • Impact pain. This is not really an injury, but if you fall too hard you will get sore (and if you do jumps after a bad fall that pain will bother you quite a bit). It can happen anywhere though your butt is the most likely place to get sore without actual bruises.

How to treat: REST. Seriously. Don’t exercise for the day and take some Advil.  How long does it take to heal? A couple of days, no more than that. Worst case scenario: You broke something. If the pain is too severe, you should go to a hospital as soon as possible.

This was super informative and I loved it but I gotta correct you on something. Those injuries are not from ballet, they don’t fit with ballet injuries either. I’m a ballet dancer, I dance on pointe and while I can agree with you 100% that our feet are horrible and we do push them a little bit too much I can assure you the injuries in the screenshot are not common feet injuries you get from doing ballet, especially not for a man. What causes blisters and sometimes (but rarely) bruises? Pointe shoes. Especially when you are breaking in a new pair cause this bitches are as hard as they can get.

Visible feet injuries I’ve seen or experienced from pointe shoes and ballet (not mentioning sprains or tendonitis or others):

-Blisters, on your toes or on the sides where the box of the pointe causes friction with your feet when you go to relevé, or at back of the feet/ ankle where the shoe ends.

-Nails breaking, bruising or falling or all of the above. It’s nasty and dancing without one nail (especially the thumb one) can be super uncomfortable and before it falls, it’s really painful to stand on your pointe.

-Bruising: not very common though. Sometimes when I’m either breaking new shoes or wearing ones that are almost dead I get very small bruises on my instep but they are tiny and they go away in a day or two.

-Breaking your toe or any of the other kazillion small bones in your feet: also uncommon. For this to happen you probably landed badly or forced your feet too hard or simply your technique wasn’t what it should have been. It’s painful but sometimes not enough to stop someone from dancing. I had a friend who pushed herself through 2 performances with a broken toe and didn’t realize it was broken for like 2 weeks.

-Bunions: almost every dancer has them. It forms from the pressure you are putting constantly on your toes.

Take this picture for example:

You can see the blisters (mostly on the toe area), the bunion, the bruise on the instep, the bruised nail. And this pic is a bit extreme for my taste (though I’m a non-professional dancer, so maybe it can be like this if you dance for 8 hours straight). See how these injuries are not at all consistent with Yuuri’s? He has bruises all over, while what ballet dancers get the most are blisters.

And also, here I’m talking about pointe shoes. Yuuri is a man so he doesn’t dance on pointe, only women are required to, and although there are in fact male dancers who take classes on pointe, the main reason for this is to improve their arch and streghten their feet and ankles. Or just to try it cause they like it and boy it helps with your balance and posture. However, I don’t see a skater (female and even less male) putting themselves through the pain that implies dancing on pointe. I feel it would be counterproductive because of the damage you are doing to your feet. Putting on the skating boots most be torture after it. Also you requiere a high level of technique to start dancing on pointe. Ballet can give skaters a loooooot of help and extra skills to be better at skating, but they don’t need to have super pretty arched feet that bend on impossible ways because your feet is always inside a boot and nobody looks at it the way feet are part of the aesthetic of ballet.

In the screenshot, Yuuri is wearing ballet slipers that look like this is real life and they are the most comfortable thing on this planet. It’s like going barefoot and I’ve never gotten not even a blister from them. They fit like a sock and are super soft.

So, what I’m trying to say is that if they are not skating or ballet injuries, I have no idea what’s going on and the writers probably just screwed up🤷🏻‍♀️. Can happen I guess.

Sorry for the long post, hopefully I added something useful to the post.

Really good additions! I didn’t want to get into the ballet part of things because my four years of dancing over a decade ago really didn’t help me on that side of things, but this is an incredible explanation to go with it now!!

My guess is that the creators probably messed up in that department? Or… idk. I have no idea where Yuuri could have gotten those injuries from. Doesn’t make sense for him to be wearing borrowed boots at all which would be the only plausible explanation but… a competitive figure skater that doesn’t have properly fit boots? Very unlikely, not to say it’s almost self-sabotage.

The only thing left I can think to blame his bruises for then is his pole dancing. When learning new tricks on the pole you will bruise if the grip point is in a new spot/angle. Feet generally are pretty fast to toughen up because of all the climbing and other, but there are certainly some tricks that will put more stress on your feet than usual. Also banging the foot on the pole during a spin happens to the best of us.

Not my feet as I’ve been slacking lately and have no pole kisses to show off.

So my 2 cents is that our boy here was just practicing some new inversion, at least the bruises on the ankle and middle of the feet fit what I’ve seen before.

OH MY GOD WAIT DOES THAT MEAN YUURI PRACTICES POLE DANCING ON THE REGULAR EVEN IN HASETSU?

IF THAT’S IS TRUE… THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING?!?!

contagion! at the charity skate

members of snztumblr, gather round! @kotyonoksnz and i have joined forces to bring you something that, hopefully, you will find awesome. i wrote an 11.5k fic, and ksnz drew a comic to go along with it.

the premise is that jj leroy and yuuri katsuki get randomly paired to do a charity exhibition skate together in new york city. unfortunately, jj has a cold, and it’s going to spread like wildfire. stay tuned for copious snz, anxiety issues, cute romantic scenes between our two mains and their respective significant others, otabek telling yurio to shut up, victor breaking his foot, all the u18 characters being magically immune to the virus, mila and sara making out in an elevator, and so much more.

if you want to support your author or your artist, or pay them to make cool stuff for you, here are some links.

Since that last post I’ve realized we all need more Katsuki siblings, so please have some art of Yuuri being smol and precious and Mari being caring and supportive.
