I'm in a moody mood so I'm just going to talk about my feelings - you don't have to read it or care if you don't want to

I've been writing the next part of TST and honestly I don't really have the same vim and motivation to write as I did when I first started. It does become difficult to keep up with the demands of constant supply of something when it takes 16-20 hours of work per chapter . If you're very fortunate like me for one day people like/talk to you about it in pretty large numbers and you feel great but then it falls into an abyss of all the other things you worked on. When I see like the first part has double the interaction of the 7th part I do sit there sometimes and think why am I bothering to continue?

Of course I'm like well this one person really wants to read It and I really don't want to disappoint so I have to continue but sometimes it does feel like why am I pushing myself to do all of this work?

It gets really hard to write consistently sometimes because I hate feeling like this isn't good and then if I think it isn't good - you won't think it's good and that worsens the disappointment in myself and makes it even harder to be motivated.

You might say oh you should just do it for fun, it's not about engagement and I agree to that sentiment. I would tell anyone who wants to produce any sort of art whether it be graphic or writing to do it from your heart and for your individual enjoyment and I do. I do write for fun but when you have to keep up with timely updates it is a but more like a job Than just fun.

This is why I don't really write series on request and stuff because it takes a lot of commitment with honestly less 'reward' than when I write one shots. I prefer to write short form because the high of writing is highest then - it is a surge because I can get all my feelings out in one go and often the response is also at a peak from you guys so it's a win win

anyway - I'm still going to write the story because I hate to not complete things and I do still like it and like the plot. Idk why I bothered to say all of this but I just wanted to

I've read this post and I had to reblog or comment because it resonated. I feel like it perfectly describes my perception.

As a writer it's really hard to start a series with a lot of interactions, only to end up with few. Many of us write because we enjoy it, but I feel like many readers don't necessarily understand that interactions can play a part in motivation.

When you spend hours writing a one shot or a chapter, sometimes doubting in the process, an interaction means a lot. A like is cool, but most of the time you want more : comments even on anon mean a lot.

It's a source of motivation, it can also be a source of reassure when you doubt. Share your favorite moments, your general thoughts, your favorite character anything that could show appreciation.

When it comes to update I feel like even if it's hard for a lot of us, we should not put pressure on ourselves. We should post when we're proud of our craft. At the end of the day, it's a hobby and we're supposed to have fun. It shouldn't be or become a task.

Obviously, I'm also going to try my best to end all the series I've started 😅 because I don't like quitting. After that I might also more focus on one shots.

hope it’s okay to say my part but it’s just a bit tough to update because i never really know if you guys truly like it or i know your thoughts and feelings about my work.

It can take hours or days for me to try and complete a draft and while i am VERY sorry about that, i just wish i had the same hype about it all. I have so much motivation but not so much to write because i do get kinda stressed about if you guys will enjoy it, will you understand my vision and stuff like that.

another thing (although i know it’s not about it) is engagement. not just likes or reblogs but if i should stop saying “black reader” because CLEARLY it’s a whole different audience when i forget to put it on there. I still will put that there so 🖐🏽.

Requests scare me lol. I feel like there’s a deadline and i disappoint when i don’t say anything or upload your specific request so i get scared so much so that i used to get anxiety about writing it. but trust, y’all will get those requests. i just don’t know when. *hides*

With Renaissance the series, that’s my baby but I don’t know if yall fuck with it as much as before. As much as I absolutely want to continue it, it’s a process and a half to get a body of work out and I don’t know how other people get it done so quick.

All I want yall to know is that I’m trying, i really am. And it doesn’t dismiss the full love I have for Lewis, that’s my man for life periodt.
