Whelp. Dashboard unfucker is no longer compatable with the most recent version of tumblr, nor is it maintained by its original author following carhammer-splosiongate.

This layout's fuckery makes my brain itch, and so as foretold: I'm leaving, and I won't be back until there's a new fix for this fuckery, because I don't like my brain itching.

Don't worry I have some post queued up as far into the future as a hundred years, though they do get sparser toward the end.

Thankfully, someone has already provided another dashboard unfucker fix, tho less robust.

For those curious and in need: It's a CSS that you put in Stylus or Stylish (posted about here) instead of a script that you run through tampermonkey. Being CSS instead of actual script, it's significantly more limited in what it can do and in how it can does it. But it makes the user interface useable again.

This gets funnier to me everything I watch it.

I love that she’s not putting on a scary mask, or making scary faces or noises, or wearing her clothes to distort her figure, or doing anything overtly scary or inhuman. She’s just… walking in a way that humans are technically capable of walking and it’s somehow terrifying. It’s not even just that it’s unusual– if she’d come around the corner walking on her hands I doubt they’d have bolted.

i kind of wish the anti voting people wouldn’t dance around the idea of what happens after the election. Like okay, the democrats lose, you taught them a lesson (and fwiw, I do think its a legitimate message to send- the people are not happy with the actions and status quo of the DNC). Now What. Trump, the multiply indicted crime president who incited a violent mob upon the capitol, is now President. He has all the qualities you hate about Biden, AND more, except he and his administration have even less reason to be sensitive to the wishes of their democratic constituents. He is a puppet for the far right and white supremacists and christian nationalists. I really shouldn’t even have to go over this- we LIVED it already. Genuinely asking, is this what you want? Because frankly I do not think 4 more years of Trump is worth it over Biden. Your hands are not clean, this is the future you want to choose. I just don’t understand why.

I remember back in 2011 there was a little flap caused when Weird Al put out his song “Perform This Way” for free online because Lady Gaga had denied permission to put it on his album (permission he never needed, but always got anyway). He’d been asked to supply not just lyrics but a recorded version before being denied, hence putting it out online. Fans of both artists were surprised and upset by this news.

One Weird Al fan who was massively surprised by all this was Stefani Germanotta, better known as Lady Gaga. It turns out that her manager had been the one handling the situation and never actually played the song for her. She quickly OK’ed it, and the song was still the lead-off single for the Alpocalypse.

And just makes me wonder how many of these “we actually asked but your team said no without consulting you” things happen.

This also reminds me of the Gary Larson/Jane Goodall thing, where Gary Larson (the guy who does “The Far Side”, of “Cow Tools” fame) put out the following comic:

TLDR version: The Jane Goodall Institute was not amused, and bugged Larson to pull it from publication… But Goodall herself saw it when she got back from the research trip she’d been on, thought it was HILARIOUS, and let the PR people who made the decision HAVE IT for giving him grief about it without consulting her first, before giving Larson the go-ahead herself; as a result, it got to go back into print. She even signed a copy of it for him!

I have heard of MANY similar stories. Especially since the strikes began. It turns out that many actors want to do indie movies, and ask their reps about it. The indie movies want them, and contact the reps. The reps refuse and never tell the actors about it.

I have also seen a situation where an author of colour wanted a certain director of colour to adapt her book, and the director also wanted to adapt the book, and both asked their agents to contact the other side… both agents returned, over and over again, for YEARS, with “refusals” from the other party. Only when they met at an event and both hesitatingly broached the subject did they find out the truth.

Now that it's technically possible to mod homestuck, I have a modest need for a 'meta lore accurate hussie' mod that peels back the curtain to show hussie as author with a small army of volunteer artists.

so i was taking a psychiatric evaluation (i remain the constant lab rat) and one of the questions for screening personality disorders was "have you ever felt that there was something physically wrong with your body, but the doctor didn't believe you?"

and i straight up stopped the interview and said (to the two male researchers) "that's just the experience of being female and going to the doctor." and they just kind of stared at me.

One time I was so anaemic I literally ragdolled onto the floor when getting out of bed then whoever was home fucken SPRINTED across the house to check on me and scrape me off of the carpet

And it took me SIX WEEKS to get a blood test cause whichever doctor I saw was like "idk eat more spinach we'll check back in a month lol"

During that time I got a lung infection so bad I got scraped off of the couch and carted to the hospital. Didn't get checked then either

Then when I FINALLY got checked and got the results they were like "Yeah that iron number is, like, single digits, that's Bad" and everyone around me was like NO SHIT SHERLOCK, her skin is TRANSLUCENT and she can't walk up STAIRS without FAINTING

Turns out that if you bleed like half a fucking litre a month you get iron deficient and nobody asked about that one for years either

The International Court of Justice told Israel to immediately halt its attack on Rafah. So Israel decided to bomb a UN tent camp.

We are witnessing beheaded children being pulled out of a a sea of burning tents. We are witnessing the bombing of displaced people in a humanitarian area.

I didn’t think we could see anything more brutal than the things we’ve seen in the last eight months. But tonight’s massacre in Rafah is unspeakable. There are truly no words left.
