Can we just throw the whole modern-ish neighborhood in Windenburg away??? Like UGH, let me make a medieval town in more than one neighborhood that only has 30x20 lots!!!! They could have just COMMITTED 👏 TO 👏 THE 👏 CONCEPT 👏

A few weeks ago, I shared photos of my D&D character Morgana, a changeling bard, and some important npcs in her life! I edited them to look like portraits, since she compulsively paints/sketches all of her longer-term personas, or other important things to her. She's fascinated by capturing and making an appearance permanent, since that is something that is normally somewhat fleeting and intangible to her.

This week I've started working on her house! This has been a location we've visited in game a few times, as we have been operating in her hometown for a few sessions now. It is a small but luxurious, 1 bedroom, rowhouse-style home.

I'm so pleased with how this build is turning out...The challenge of doing a low-tech build has actually been really fun, and I love finding ways to incorporate all the little details I've mentioned in past sessions! It's also been a really great creative exercise for me to think about what Morgana might want/need in her home, and think about how she spent her time there. It seems silly to say this about a fictional character that *I* created, but I feel so much more connected with her now!

Honestly, this is probably a really accurate representation of what my streams are like. 😂 Enjoy the highlights of my struggle, complete with subtitles!

I launched merch for my Mixer channel this week, and I am so proud and excited of everything. 8 designs for the channel/PastelSpell brand + 4 for our D&D campaign, Sagas of Sohyu. I’ve barely slept lately working on behind the scenes things, but I feel so productive and fulfilled. I love creating content for gaming, and I really enjoyed my time on tumblr, but UGH I just love streaming so much. It fulfills me creatively and just…in my heart, which sounds so cheesy but is so true. This is just definitely my medium and I feel like there’s so much potential and I’m just so in love (even if it’s a ton of work).

We’ve been streaming our newest D&D campaign on my mixer channel. Last night was episode 3, and oh man we did a DEEP dive into my character’s backstory. Basically all my secrets were laid bare and I was SO vulnerable and it really has me feeling a certain way today. Our DM is so talented and my fellow players are wonderful and it was just such an amazing scene...my mind has been running through all the details and possibilities all day. This week, I opened my game for the first time since April. I've been working on a little build challenge put together by @kaylico on Mixer called "Mixer Upper" (isn't that cute?!). I'm not using any CC at the moment which is...whooooo boy....difficult! But I finally got to the point where I could enter my game again and not just feel stressed and overwhelmed and miserable. I think I'll put this house (and the little family I made for it) up for download once it's done. 💛

Hey guys! As promised, here is some more info on my new streaming adventure!! 

I will be streaming on Mixer, which I am SUPER excited about!!! Mixer has a lot of really great interactive features and integrations that have quickly made it my favorite streaming platform...if you haven’t tried it out yet, now is the perfect opportunity! 

Additionally, I’ve created a discord that will be centered around my stream community, affectionately known as ‘The Coven.’ Like I said in my hiatus post, I won’t be streaming TS4 at any point in the near future; however, there is a channel for Sims discussion! So those of you coming over from Tumblr will have a place to talk about it - and, if needed, ask me questions about any of my content here on tumblr - even if it isn’t the focus of the community. 

My very first stream will be TONIGHT! We’re probably going to be starting with some Stardew Valley, I think? We’ll see...Definitely something chill, anyways! I’d love it if you stopped by and said hello - here are some relevant links for you! 

I did a brief technical test stream last night that went pretty well, so hopefully we don’t run into too many issues tonight, but please bear with me if we do!! 

Hiatus.

Unfortunately, this post is a long time coming. I've been here almost 2 years now, and there's 1,582 of you (which is wild), but...there's no other way to say it really...I keep getting burned out on the game, as well as (and maybe because of) tumblr. Sims/simblr has started to feel like a job to me...and I used to not mind so much because I enjoyed the community and interaction, and that made it all worth it...but my notes have been WAY down for months (since the new guidelines rolled out really), and a lot of times I just feel like I'm speaking to an empty room. I put a lot of work and mental/emotional energy into my posts and lately it's left me feeling drained and unfulfilled. I don't enjoy the process of creating content here anymore - making something, getting the perfect picture, editing the heck out of that picture, writing a post, linking way too much cc - it's a lot, and I feel like I've forgotten how to play just for my own happiness. I'm also tired of getting anon hate about my chronic illness/financial situation (I've deleted those posts relating to it, btw, because I'm just done with the bullshit). I'm just really unhappy...so I've decided it's time for me to step back for now. I'm not sure if/when I'll be back, at least in a full capacity. I may still check in from time to time.

That being said, I've decided to start streaming again. I think this will end up being a much better platform/creative outlet for me, as I will get to interact with my community more and have things feel less like a job/lengthy process. I will not be streaming Sims at any point in the near future, but if you are interested in other gaming content from me, I'll have some info for you guys in the next few days with where you can find me.

I truly appreciate all the love and support I've gotten here. I have many fond memories and sweet friends from my time on Simblr and I wish you all nothing but the best. 💕
