Skin Sickness

Lay across my bare chest

Crush my ribs downward

And relocate my soul.

It has drifted too far,

Outward and onward and

Not where it needs to be.

Lay across my bare chest.

Test my fragility and

Cure me.

Ode to Rosa

You make me feel

Like I am easy to love

You take my flaws

And wrap them in beautiful silk

And chiffon

And they become models

On a runway

You take my words

Self loathing words

And turn it into poetry

That warms me

You take my tears

And paint me a picture

Of happiness

I like that.

You tell me that I shouldnt hate things

About myself

Like the crooked alignment of my teeth

Because it adds character

Or the bulge at my hips

Because it is something to hold on to

Or my inability to shut the fuck up

Because you listen to my words

As if they were birdsong

Sweet sweet birdsong

You make me feel

Like I am easy to love

Which makes it easy for me

To feel the same

Rosa is a friend who always loves me, even when I do not care to love myself. This is one of the many reasons I love her and appreciate her in my life. Because she is in my life, I have been gifted with love.

Needle in a Haystack

They found me

In the embers

Of the lie I used to live

I couldn't find the problem

With life;

Mine to be exact,

And it was buried

And when you can't find it;

The needle,

You've gotta torch the motherfucking haystack

And there it was;

The problem,

Was there all along

They found it

In the embers

Of the lie it lived

They found me

And showed me a mirror

And I saw my problem

And it was at that point

I decided to change.

Ode to A Friend

My lover calls me babe

And strokes my cheek

And back

And watches me think

And has tasted my lips

My lover is my lover

Who holds the romance in my heart

But dear friend,

I have a lover

I need not another

Please relenquish your infatuation

And be my friend

I will not be your personal pacifier

I will be your friend

I will be there for you

I will not promise always

I will not jeopardise myself for you

My lover calls me babe

And you are my friend

My lover strokes my cheek

And back

And you are my friend

My lover watches me think

And you are my friend

My lover has tasted my lips

And you have not

For you are my friend

And that is a boundary I would like to keep.

Hellfire

I was the girl

Who cried wolf too many times

So they stopped caring.

I learned to show my own teeth

And fight my corner

Not needing to cry wolf anymore

But needing to cry

It's hard trying to do it alone

It gets easier

When you realise

That you are not a lonely wolf

So you join the weak links

Of wolf packs

Left behind

And soon you have your own pack

Strong

Brave

Fighters

You learn

In time

And to my pack:

Those who left us

Are dead to us

They thought we would not survive

But they were wrong

We stand strong

And proud

I was their runt

Now I am your Alpha

And I have risen from hellfire.

[Edit] Just because I have seen a couple people point this out in the notes. I am well aware that there are only thirty days in April. I look at a calendar the entire time I am make the prompt sets, looking out for holidays and anything else that might give me some creative inspiration. I believe I have mentioned this before on a previous set,but i could be wrong. So, I often like to include an extra day, just in case. There is one extra prompt in the situation that you miss a day, or don’t like one of the other prompts, or maybe you’re just feeling extra ambitious. It’s an option I like to provide. I did the same thing in February, offering 29 prompts instead of 28. Any month that doesn’t have a complete 31 days, I will be adding an additional prompt to. Hope that clears things up for you. Enjoy~

poemcrastination

here’s a poem to  keep me from  real work,

not killing time,

but cherishing it,

each second’s a

diamond

and you can

spend it

or

sell it

but you can’t

take it with you.
