So, there's a lot of USians around who are very clearly fucking fed up with their political choices this election cycle, and planning to sit it out.

And I get it! What's the point of voting if there's no one to vote for?

The thing is, I'm Australian. In Australia, voting is compulsory. We don't get to sit out our elections, and I'll be real honest with you - we don't exactly get better choices than you lot. So how do you vote if there's no one to vote for? You find someone to vote against. And there's always someone to vote against.

Now, we have the pleasure of preferential voting in Australia - We get to rank every candidate from 1 to X, and I'll tell you, there's something so cathartic about putting the biggest bastard of the lot at the very bottom of your preferences. I understand that USians don't get that option - you get to mark one person, and that's it.

That means that you get one shot, so aim it at the biggest bastard of the lot. The candidate you most utterly detest. Put your vote in the worst possible place for them. Don't even think about who that vote's going towards, that's not the point. Remember, every vote is a vote against someone. Make sure you fuck up that someone's election day!

Using the bathroom in general is a human right and should be enshrined as such and I'm not joking. Too many groups of people are denied bathroom breaks or the use of bathrooms entirely--disabled people, blue-collar workers, children, homeless people, prisoners, students, the elderly. I'm surely missing other groups. Not using the bathroom when needed can cause serious, long-term damage, not to mention death. Free, clean, accessible bathrooms should be available everywhere. It's fucking cruel to deny someone the use of the bathroom, regardless of the reasoning. I'd rather every student in the world goof off and every homeless person make a mess and every worker "steal company time" than let one person suffer because they're denied the right to fucking pee in peace.

As someone who once had a school who tried to restrict bathroom breaks – due to apparent goofing off during classes – all it took for them to immediately change course was one super pissed off mom. Yes, my mom heard that, and charged right into the office to “have a word” with the principal, even going so far as asking to speak to the superintendent.

And let me tell you, it honestly takes that. People getting pissed and upset enough that people realize it’s not “just a small issue.” That it’s a human right and basic need that everyone should be able to do, with no stupid restrictions or paywall. If you think people shouldn’t be allowed to have free access and accommodations to bathrooms (making more bathrooms disabled friendly for example), then idk what to say besides please honestly rethink that mindset.

Everyone uses the bathroom, and everyone should have a bathroom to use.

I am so fucking outraged. Look at these pro-hamas terrorist supporters at Columbia university harassing our Jewish brother. They didn’t ask his beliefs or if he was a Zionist. So when a celebrity says something pro Palestine or even pro Hamas everyone goes "yeah woo celebrities should always use their platform to talk about issues"

But when a celebrity says "actually killing Israelis is bad" suddenly celebrities shouldn't get involved in conflicts and shouldn't use their platform to talk about issues

I think it says a lot that a lot of phrases used in the pro-israel movement, like "am yisrael chai" or "bring them home now" are about things like resistance through celebrating life and advocating for people to be returned safe and sound to their families . whereas a lot of phrases in the anti-israel movement, like "globalize the intifada" or "from the river to the sea" are about supporting violent acts particularly against jewish people. even seemingly peaceful phrases like "ceasefire now" have violent undercurrents when it turns out some people using them only want the IDF to lay down their arms but dont care what hamas does.

does this say anything at all? probably yeah the curtains are never just blue imo. I think this is something that would have to be properly researched through a survey to truly see what the reason for this nonviolent/violent phrases difference is caused by. my hypothesis is that the pro-israel crowd is primarily jewish and we are encouraged to heavily value life. whereas the anti-israel crowd is very culturally christian being influenced by aspects of Arab colonization and islamism, which results in them valuing the suffering of themselves and others. to them, suffering is noble when a person 'doesn't deserve' it and exhilarating when a person 'does'.
