thingie for loz zine
My art for the Legend of Zelda @calmandhopezine. The theme for this one was quieter and more intimate moments. I’ve always loved Skyward Sword’s Kikwis, so I thought it would be fun to draw them having some sort of picnic with Link and Zelda~
I had the privilege to be in the @calmandhopezine , a LoZ charity zine. Now that the books are going out, we’re allowed to post our pieces!
I did two pieces, one for Oracle of Seasons and the other for Majora’s Mask, as well as a sticker sheet for the bonus edition.
4/14 - Semi-Last Update
Hello everyone!
Apologies for the delay, but all zines should now be sent out! This also means that artists are free to post the full pictures of their zines.
As for the donation, we made enough sales to break even but not necessarily make a significant donation. Due to this I’m working to pay out of pocket to contribute to the donation, and will make a public post on this blog as soon as that’s done.
If your package doesn’t show up after a lengthy amount of time (2+ weeks for US, 4-5+ for international) please let me know through calmandhopezine@gmail.com so we can sort something out.
Thank you everyone for your support!
3/13
Hello everyone! Sorry for the delay, personal tragedy and illness interfered with progress for a fair amount of time.
As it stands right now, the artists have a little less than two days to confirm any last minute information before the books are sent to print. After that it should take 1-2 weeks to receive the books and bonus items and promptly ship them out. Thank you for your patience!
This is a project brought together by over 20 artists to bring over 20 pages of illustrations together into one book, where all the profits go towards a donation to Doctors Without Borders. Accepted Artist List
Hello everyone! I apologize for the lateness, but here’s the list of accepted artists. It was hard to pick only 20 or so people from a list of 140, so I ended up narrowing it down to 32 artists. Their acceptance letters have all been sent, so if you’re on this list and haven’t received it, please contact me at calmandhopezine@gmail.com
They’re here below the read more
9/25 Update
Hello, sorry for the slight delay everyone, there was a real life incident that ended up taking longer than expected.
All in all there was an incredible amount of people, over 140, who’ve applied to this zine, and for that I’m forever grateful!
From now until October 1st, these applications are going to be reviewed. Look forward to a public list being posted of the artists who got in, as well as acceptance emails for a select few.
Thank you very much again, everyone, and have a great day!
maybe i missed it, but what is the age requirement for this zine?
There isn’t one! At least, I don’t think there should be one unless some legal thing comes up?? If you’re on the younger side maybe make sure you can accept packages since I’m paying through books and all. (If you really want I can just send the pdf too but c’mon it’s book you can hold in your hands it’s great)
9/10 Update
Hello everyone! I wanted to thank everyone who has submitted an application so far or helped circulate the application post, it’s super appreciated.
I’ve noticed there’s been some issues with some applications, however - mainly that the question asking for your name is asking for just that, not the character or prompt you want to cover in the book. I plan to make a doc available for accepted artists to put all their ideas there for organization sake, and also on the chance someone doesn’t want to draw an idea someone else is doing. (Personally I don’t mind if there’s doubles, do you what you wanna do ;v)
If you want to change your application for any reason, please just email calmandhopezine@gmail.com specifying who you are and what you wanna change. Thank you very much!
Hello, it’s @olivinearc again with charity zine, this time based around Legend of Zelda! This one is aimed to be smaller than @faitodayozine as well as more relaxed in what an artist may draw. No need to worry about covering all the cards in a game or anything like that - simply just draw a picture in relation to the prompt. The charity for this one will be Doctors Without Borders, and artists will still receive one free copy of the book, with additional available at production cost.
