“What crat-” He then saw what the squip was talking about. Wow this AI can really see and predict things that the borrower didn’t see yet- even with all his years of experience. The chip just out done him. However it did not hesitate to take it’s advice even if he wasn’t sure why he needed to. They were right next to the bus stop they needed. Patches hopped behind the crate and looked at the squip worryingly. “Wh-why?”
No sooner had they ducked behind the crate did a soldier and demoman come rushing by. They were chattering about something, careless steps crashing down on exactly where Patches had been walking previously. Then they were gone as soon as they’d arrived.
Probably a good thing he heeded the advice.
The Squip turned to Patches. “That’s why. I can sense these things through quantum entanglement.”
“H-how-” Patches mumbled out loud, in pure shock as he didn’t realize the ai had the capability to sense other people around him before he could. Who made this thing? The borrower stood in shock for a couple of seconds before jumping at the sound of a huge bus making it’s stop near them. The little man looked from the side of the crate and watched humans step off- Once he knew no one would bother to look down he went ahead and slipped onto the bus like he’s done a million times before.

The Squip followed along with Patches as he rushed out of the base and out into the snow outside. Obviously it didn’t get winded nor was it affected by the cold. It also didn’t leave any footprints in the snow so there was another reminder that it wasn’t physically there despite how real it looked.
“You’re going to want to duck behind that crate within in the next six seconds,” it announced suddenly.

When the two started to beat each other up over the juvenile joke, the Squip simply turned to look back at Patches. Its point had been made.
“Come on. They’re distracted now and won’t notice us leave. It is imperative that we leave now if we want to make it to the bus stop in time.”
This distraction was slowing them down too much, even if it was a good learning moment. But they had to account for how much of a trek it was for Patches to cross distances outdoors and all the potential obstacles that could arise in such a trip.
Patches nodded and made his way around the chaos as he tried not to get stepped on by the rowdy scouts. Once he made it to safety he followed the squip’s advice and rushed his way out of the compound with the intent on catching that bus. Once the borrower was able to slip out the front door he trekked through the snowy path that lead to the lone bus stop. He was determined to turn his life around and cold fingers be darned.
