Hey. I'm a 20-something self-taught artist who likes seafood and robot vampires. This is a multi-whatever blog, mostly filled with my doodles, cute animals, and Dragon Age.

I sometimes have Foxiyo ideas I haven't had time to get around to writing/drawing. Here is one:

In some AU where Palps bites the dust early, Fox becomes one of the most well-adjusted of all the commanders. He also starts dating.

Except, no one believes him.

Cody and gang arrive on Coruscant for shore leave after weeks of fighting and Fox is happy to show them around. But he can't tomorrow night because he's got a hot date with a senate coworker.

Yeah right Fox.

Whatever you say.

Months go by, the war drags on. Fox's command batch arrives again and they go for drinks but Fox has to split early because he promised his girlfriend he'd sleep more regular hours.

'Girlfriend'? Pfft. Someone is having delusion of grandeur.

Leave him alone guys, he's probably so bored being stuck out here he's having hallucinations.

Fox now officially hates his brothers. They are totally paying for their own drinks.

The war has ended! Clones are granted citizenship. Everyone gathers again for drinks and to discuss their future. Fox (hesitantly) declares he's going to ask his girlfriend to marry him.

Are you still on about that Fox?

He's really committed to this bit.

That's it. None of you bottleheads are invited to the wedding. >:(

A year goes by. During the anniversary reunion dinner, Fox is spotted carrying a smol blue baby.

Whose kid is that Fox?

Mine.

Seriously vod, you can't just go around kidnapping people's children.

It's MINE.

I think that's Senator Chuchi's kid.

Aww, you sweet on a senator, Fox?

Bite me and die, Bly.

Do you want us to ask if she's single?

NO.

Some time later, Fox is doing dishes with Riyo who glances at him with a sly look. Fox is SUSPICIOUS.

Your brother Bly just asked me if I was single. He said he was asking for a friend.

I do not see.

I told him no. He seemed quite devastated. 😏

Riyo...

Cody also told me that a certain former Commander of the Corrie Guard had an... admiration for me.

...

You have an 'admiration' for me, Fox? 😘

... Riyo we're married.

Still!

Eventually, Fox encounters his brothers while he's out with Riyo. They are aghast.

You know she's a married woman right, Fox?

Fox... don't do this to yourself...

Fox ignores them. They grow more desperate. Riyo resolves everything by telling everyone they are married. People are mollified. But later...

Did you hear that Fox got involved with a married woman?

Yeah! And but then she dumped her husband to marry Fox!

No one understands why Thorn, upon hearing all this, bursts out laughing so hard he almost chokes himself. The former Corrie Guards all swear by this story and tell everyone that they are very happy Senator Chuchi made a honest man out of Fox and he'll be a good dad to her children.

What's this rubbish about stepfather? I'm their actual father!

Yeah! That's the spirit! You're their father, Fox!

Fox screams.

Small Parallel I love with Knives Out and Glass Onion

Neither Harlan Thrombey nor Andi Brand are good people. They’re not. They’re also not evil people to be clear, but again, they’re not really good people.

By the kind of people his family and especially his children are, we get a sense of who Harlan is or largely was in his life, especially with the comment that there is so much of him in Ransom.

Andi was also clearly more than okay with both Birdie and Duke as not just acquaintances but close friends; as well as what other nonsense came out of Miles before “Klear,” and she was his business partner and friend.

She wasn’t some moral beacon of wholesomeness.

Her standard of good was –

Let’s not put this very dangerous and unstable thing that hasn’t even come close to being properly tested out into the world, especially not under our company’s name; because we are not some daring startup company anymore, we’re an established conglomerate and this could easily sink us.

That’s not exactly a high bar of morality.

And that’s okay.

Really it is.

I like how neither movie truly idolizes Harlan or Andi to the point they are made out to be truly good people, BUT yet, we still see why Marta and Helen clearly loved and cared about these two and why their deaths matter.

Marta and Helen are our truly good souls for these movies.

The two main groups of people - The Thrombeys and The Disruptors - are all various shades of the same kind of bad person for each movie.

The Thrombeys are all willing to live off Harlan’s hard work and they all believe they are entitled to his fortune because it’s their family right. It’s theirs. And once you peel back the layers of liberal or conservative, they’re all the same, because they’re all a bit more than willing to defend what they think is theirs, with knives out and teeth bared.

The Disruptors are somehow even more reliant on Miles than the Thrombeys were on Harlan (which is saying something); and they will cling onto him until they see his boat is doomed to sink. They literally know he killed two people; two of their so-called “friends” and they’re not willing to do anything. At least, not until Miles is truly fucked.

They all care more about their own survival and ambitions than doing the right thing. And once more, when you peel back the layers of liberal or conservative, we once again see they’re all the same, they’re all more than willing to lie for a lie and stab a “friend” in the back.

But Harlan and Andi are our mixed bags of morality.

This is clear enough with the two types of people they are associated with.

The Thrombey Family and Marta.

The Disruptors and Helen.

They’re kind of like an optical illusion, it really depends on how you look at them and what you see when it comes to their own morality.

However, they do have two traits that I think redeem them for the audience, or at the very least make them more admirable to us.

They are genuinely self-made people.

Harlan was a brilliant murder mystery writer. He was. And he did build this publishing/franchise empire of his.

Andi was a brilliant mind who dabbled in many different things, but her real talent (as I saw it) was being able to spot a certain something-something in people. She saw the doers in the world, even when they weren’t quite there yet, she saw their potential to be the kind of person who others would notice and remember.

They were also both willing to stand by their values and once they made a decision, they would not be bullied into changing it.

Harlan decided to cut off his family and was sticking by that.

Andi decided to walk away from Miles and was sticking by that.

And I don’t know, I just like that little bit of extra moral complexity these two characters bring to these movies.

Oh, and Benoit Blanc is a good person, but he definitely isn’t governed by what the law or society says is good. He’s an eccentric who’s here for a good time, a fun and challenging mystery, and is more than willing to help out the good souls in the world when he gets the opportunity.

Tech Support (Part 2 - Tech x Reader)

Summary: Tech leaves before they even have a chance to have a dinner date. The Batchers are gone a long time and things are far from normal when they return.

Author's Note: I had a fluffy soft version of this written but I wanted to incorporate today's bombshell but Tech survives, okay. He survives.

Warnings: fluff, mild-ish smut (Minors DNI), angst

Word Count: 6.3 K

You'd overheard that they were leaving. They were leaving right now.

Although it did not surprise you that Tech had not come to say goodbye, there was nothing stopping you from saying goodbye to him. Something deep in the core of your being felt wrong about this mission. As you reached the courtyard, you watched as Tech spoke with Phee momentarily before you called out to him, "Tech."

"If you're going to give him a speech about goodbyes, save it. I already tried that." Phee said as she walked off with a wave towards Tech. You stood before him and he raised his eyes to you, something he had not done with Phee.

"Should I have said goodbye to you, too?" He asked perplexed by the onset of female attentions. You shook your head.
