“That is just as well, Potter,” said Snape coldly, “because you are neither special nor important, and it is not up to you to find out what the Dark Lord is saying to his Death Eaters.” “No – that’s your job, isn’t it?” Harry shot at him. He had not meant to say it; it had burst out of him in temper. For a long moment they stared at each other, Harry convinced he had gone too far. But there was a curious, almost satisfied expression on Snape’s face when he answered. “Yes, Potter,” he said, his eyes glinting. “That is my job.”

i just don't get snape defenders... like do they know you can have a fav character and still acknowledge that they were a horrible person????

people gave great answers, including how a lot of what snape detractors claim he did never happened in canon. But also 100% of that didn't happen in the real world. He's a fictional character. There's nothing to defend. He's fake, so he could have kicked babies and it makes no difference. He's a fun, interesting character that a lot of people can relate to, particularly if you've ever been demonized or expressed trauma in a 'bad' way. Even if you really believe that Snape is an irredeemable character or whatever (I disagree but that's not the point), he's fictional and liking him has no bearing on your real world morality. No moral requirement to make constant performative declarations that ooohhh he's a horrible person but he's my fav anyway because, again, he's a fictional character. I can't imagine what an exhausting existence filled with shame it must be to feel like you need to make disclaimers about the faults of the fictional characters you enjoy every time you post about them. That sounds depressing and miserable.

I wanted to try it a long time ago, I also saw a publication that reminded me how much I wanted to draw it, so before I forgot it again, I made the decision to draw it once and for all, not as a musical record like Mariya's, but as the cover of a magazine, like a cover of Xenophillus Lovewood's magazine "The Fussy".
