this is not just me projecting my favorite trope but: Ennoshita would accidentally let it slip one day after Tanka does something really dumb in order to impress him or does something really corny just to cheer him up and Ennoshita is just so deep in his crush that he won’t even realize what he says or that Tanaka even heard him in the first place.

Then the two pining boys would realize that they both were idiots for even trying to hide their obvious crush and Tanaka would just start howling before Ennoshita smacks him for being too loud lol
