     whether the EXHAUSTION stems from physical exertion or emotional, kara can’t discern   ;   body reeling with fraying nerves   &   overwhelming uncertainty. the joints in her knees weakened from hours of strenuous, brutal training. she can’t bring herself to look up at him, eyes trained at the dampened concrete beneath her but she accepts his hand. flinching when arkham’s knight unholsters his gun, knowing what’s next to come         given his reputation   &   PROUD DISPLAY of cruelty towards his own. teeth dig into her bottom lip, unable to look to the wounded party, guilt rising in her throat like odious bile for not moving to aid him.

     ‘ IT’S ALMOST SAD. when i look at you, i see something that could be so great. so POWERFUL. and yet here you are, heaving and huffing just because of a simple training session. you think this is hard? too tough for your already superpowered body? just wait till we get to the main show.’     he kneels before the kryptonian, mask barely illuminating the top part of his body in what seems to be a room void of any other light. extending a hand for her to pull herself up if she wished, the Knight kept his gaze fixed on her, his statue-like composure sending a chill into most.   ‘ if you’re WORRIED about killing, don’t be.’  in an instant, his weapon is unholstered and fired into a corner of the room behind the knight, followed by a sharp SCREAM.   ‘ that’s what they’re here for.’
