His ass does not pay attention enough to know all of their genders. Toph wears baggy clothes, he squinted at her and went “yeah that’s a boy. Or boy adjacent. Probably.” and moved on. Ally???
rewatching avatar! rebloggs appreciated!
[ID: a six-paneled comic of Aang, Sokka, and Katara from Avatar: the Last Airbender.
In the first panel, Appa and Aang’s full bodies are drawn. Appa stands, angled slightly to the side, while Aang’s hand is lifted to pet him. Aang says, “This is Appa! My flying bison!”
The second panel shows Sokka and Katara from the knees up. They look on, nonplussed. Sokka says, “Right… And this is Katara, my flying sister…” The little text above Katara’s head says, “hello…”
The third panel shows Katara actually being lifted off the ground, her eyes wide. Sokka’s eyes bulge out of his head as he watches her, little lines of alarm drawn around his head.
The fourth panel shows Sokka, his back to the audience, turning to face his sister. He says, “K-Katara! Y-you’re not going to believe this! Y-You’re flying! You’re really fly–” He cuts himself off as a thought comes to him.
The fifth panel shows Sokka facing the audience again, turned to glare angrily at something off screen.
The last panel shows Aang slightly crouched, using airbending to lift Katara off of the ground. Sokka has his arms crossed, still glaring. Sokka says, “Think you’re pretty clever, huh?” End ID.]

Israel holds thousands of Palestinians as de facto hostages. According to the Israel Prison Service, 3,661 of its 9,312 “security” inmates are held without charge or trial as “administrative detainees.”
What’s administrative detention? B’Tselem explains:
“In administrative detention, a person is held without trial without having committed an offense, on the grounds that he or she plans to break the law in the future. As this measure is supposed to be preventive, it has no time limit. The person is detained without legal proceedings, by order of the regional military commander, based on classified evidence that is not revealed to them. This leaves the detainees helpless – facing unknown allegations with no way to disprove them, not knowing when they will be released, and without being charged, tried or convicted.”
"Israel routinely uses administrative detention and has, over the years, placed thousands of Palestinians behind bars for periods ranging from several months to several years, without charging them, without telling them what they are accused of, and without disclosing the alleged evidence to them or to their lawyers.”
at this point i could not care less about criticism of ai art that does not focus on its environmental impact, its labor impact, or its potential misuse in larger disinformation campaigns. “ai art has no heart :(“ it’s embarrassing that you care about this and also who gets to determine what counts as art with “heart” and who is capable of creating such art. google “degenerate art” right now
#yeah i've seen ai art that's like? good?#and good on purpose?#made by people who were very intentional and experimenting with new tools the way artists do?#but in the world we live in those new tools are not as important as the fact that they're being used as an excuse to fire workers#and in a perfect world the environmental problems and the disinformation problems would still make it unjustifiable#idk when you declare that something is or isn't 'art' then i think you've either lost the plot or you're up to something questionable
This is an excellent response

The brain does not magically mature at 25. Actual neuroscientists note some 8-year-olds even have a greater "maturation index" than 25-year-olds. The myth misunderstands basic neuroscience but is still used for anti-trans policymaking like the Cass Report. https://slate.com/technology/2022/11/brain-development-25-year-old-mature-myth.html
