Mine are more of a Spectrum of the Year that's loosely based on how I feel between the "spokes" on the Wheel of the Year! It's less of a "correspondences" thing and more of a "what they indicate" thing for me.
- December is actually when I celebrate the "new year"! Yule and all. Unfortunately I also associate it with being tired from holiday parties, but it's when the Natural World Gets Serious about quieting/dying down. The winter relaxation, the warmth of hot cocoa, the first Serious Snows that Stick.
- January is the Very Cold month. Like sometimes below zero cold. It's bracing and refreshing and Winter Wonderland for me. (I enjoy the sensation of Being Cold in small bursts!) This tends to be Surprise Snow Day month! And when we get most of our blizzards.
- February is, in recent years, Mix of Sun and Snow month. Slush, fluctuating levels of Cold, good time for spells to Bring Things Into Being rather than banish or negate, and Being Aggressively AroAce.
- March is Early Spring and Second Winter month. I associate it with the first steps towards coming back to life. Rain admist birdsong, calm amidst the chaos of everything coming back to life at once.
- April tends to mark when my own personal power starts feeling more subtle/hard to draw up again. Flowers and birds and reawakening. Things Start to Get Loud. I start to Rest more.
- May is about when the natural world starts getting overwhelmingly "loud" for me. It's when my personal energies take a sharp nosedive. May is about stepping up my shields and putting my "game face" on for the weather, sunlight, and people both getting obnoxious soon.
- June in recent years I start associating with Overly Warm Weather. This used to be relegated to the "dog days" of August but our Dog Days are no longer only in August. /u_u\ My inverted seasonal depression starts kicking in.
- July is associated with those stereotypical Warm and Humid Summer Nights. Camping trips, fireflies, playing outside at night, and fireworks. So Many Fireworks.
- August is the month my personal energy is just permanently in exhaustion and overwhelm. I don't do well in the heat and August temps soar above 90 here. (I have passed out from the heat at 75. Vasovagal syncope, not dehydration. My physical body Can Not Handle It and I think my nonphysical energy responds to that.) August is for lazing about and entertaining myself and distracting myself from the oppressive heat. Probably don't have the energy for much aside from personal shields and maintaining the physical body.
- September is when temps can start randomly getting Very Cold and Very Hot. The natural world is in flux; birds start leaving, trees start changing (especially the maples and those trees with the tiny leaves downtown). My personal energy starts rising again. Pre-Halloween Season! Apples and fall festivals! Relief from the heat!
- October: Best Month! Best Sabbat! Best mundane holiday! My personal power at its PEAK! Exploration and delight and good time for working more powerful/draining spells.
- November: Coming down off the Samhain high and settling into quiet again. The world is the darkest, the quietest. My power still going pretty strong. Good time for reflections and settling affairs.
(I wonder if living somewhere so temperate and inconsistent affects how my energy waxes and wanes throughout the year?)
