Alcea rosea (hollyhock) is a native to China ornamental flowering plant in the family Malvaceae. The plant can easily reach a height of 8 ft and its large flowers come in a number of various colors, from lavender ti red to yellow. Three color varieties, in particular, caught my attention: the pale pink, the red “Mars Magic” and the black cultivar “Nigra”. Falling to choose one, I decided to make this pattern in all three color version.
