Cannot stop thinking about Anne magill paintings. Maybe my new favorite painter. She just captures this ..,,,,,, dreamy feeling...,,, a certain tenderness..... a fleeting moment of contentedness..... like nothing else I’ve seen

I’m going to scream

i sometimes forget that this is everyone’s first time on earth too. like. this is my first time seeing a butterfly this color. but its that little girl’s first time seeing any butterfly, ever. and i accidentally left a bag of groceries at the store after paying and now i’m cursing under my breath and it’s like. there a thousand other people out there who did that today too. and a thousand more from yesterday. and. like. we’re not actually alone. and we’re not actually failing. at least not in a way that a few billion people haven’t before you

– Saturday studies!

Being behind in my classes means that Saturdays aren't so much for resting and relaxing but for studying and catching up as much as possible. I hope you all have a great weekend!

saw a tiktok of a mother taking her very tiny daughter to an art museum and she’s just walking around going “whoooa” “woooaah” to everything but then they got to a marble statue of a nude woman lying on her back and the girl points and goes “mommy🫵” and i just immediately welled up with tears and all the comments are just laughing about it and of course it’s funny but how are you not insanely moved by the way art connects everyone on earth from a centuries-old sculptor to a toddler in 2023

There this french radio station called FIP that in addition to being a great radio station has different webradios each dedicated to one musical genre. AND they've created a new one called "Sacré Français !" that only plays songs in french, and not just from France but from the whole francophone world! They are pretty eclectic in their choices and I thought it could interest some of you if you're looking for new artists to add to your language playlists :)

You can listen here or in the Radio France app.

PS: the webradios are music only, there's no talking. But I definitely recommend listening to the regular FIP station if you want small doses of listening practice, they do speak in a relaxed way!

when you get rid of CDs you’re also loosing the entire art of album design and CD packaging as well as lyric booklets and the design of the CD itself. and all of those things factor into how you experience the album. looking up lyrics on genius is nowhere near as impactful as looking at the loving design that goes into lyric booklets, the images chosen to accompany certain songs, the typography and text design, even sometimes the artists comments in there as well. while playing individual songs and making playlists or shuffle playing an artists discography is fine it seems like a lot of people have forgotten what its like to listen and appreciate an album. and when “listening to an album” means clicking play on a list of songs with a tiny little album cover on spotify of course its going to be a different experience than getting the actual CD or vinyl or casette and seeing all the love and care that goes into that physical media. ok?
