tumblr app updated today and replaced the account tab at the bottom right of the screen with the merch store

account is now only accessible on the dashboard tab and u cannot save your place scrolling on your own blog while scrolling the dashboard, a change that has made this app nigh unusable for me. i’m posting here because this blog has thousands of followers, please –get publicly furious about this! send emails complaining to staff! write bad app store reviews! this change is literally so evil and signals worse things to come, i really cherish the space and community this site provides and i’d hate to see it become half buggy and unnavigable tiktok/instagram knockoff #52 and half ugly merch store. thank u for reading.

What’s that, a Clavis fic that starts with “Are you crazy?”

If the fact that it’s written for you didn’t speak to me, that would be the moment I’d know it’s gonna be a good fic - but i have the pleasure of knowing this beforehand 🤭

matsukawa issei proposes to you on your second date.

he says it so casually, so effortlessly. like he was commenting on your choice of shoes, or the weather.

"i think i could spend the rest of my life with you."

you play it off as simple flirtation, albeit a little forward, but that's just who issei is. brazen. unfiltered. constantly toeing a line between jest and sincerity.

time goes on. casual dates turn to dating, two apartments become one, lives apart become a life together.

issei brings up marriage all the time. you always laugh and play it off.

on your first anniversary he tells you he was looking at rings a few days prior. you tell him you want a diamond so big it makes your finger ache under the weight of it.

on your birthday two years in, he remarks that the botanical garden you two visit for the day would make a good wedding venue. you tell him you'll only marry him in the spring when the flowers are in bloom.

on christmas after three years together, he tells you he can't wait to watch your children open gifts. you tell him he needs to improve his gift wrapping before that happens.

and on a random tuesday four years after your second date, matsukawa issei sinks to his knee in your shared living room. it's raining outside. you're wearing your pyjamas. the diamond on the ring is sparkling in the blue light of the television.

If you want to continue to be able to access and read fanfiction PLEASE go into your settings and click "show" on at least the "Mature" and "Sexual Themes" labels!!

ALSO IOS USERS: there's an extra fun "Hide additional content" bit just to really try and block us from any hopes of success. Make sure you opt out of that too otherwise I think content will be blocked on the mobile app!

I'll add a note here that it seems like on desktop there's also the ability to tag posts as a certain label. Interesting.

to start with, here's the link to the help page on community labels.

what is a community label?

it is a label that you can add to any post you've created or reblogged. it is also a label that anyone who sees your post can SUGGEST to add, at which point the tumblr moderators are summoned to see whether the label does in fact apply to your post.

what kind of labels can you add?

mature (which is a catch-all), violence, drug/addiction, and sexual themes. so basically, mature content that iOS hates

what's the point of adding labels?

as OP said, people viewing your posts can filter based on labels. so they can choose to:

so what's the problem? this doesn't sound so bad

the problem is that tumblr made the hide option the default option for every community label for everyone.

if you want to be in compliance with labeling laws (aka, you don't want the tumblr moderators to come for you), you should label your posts. but if you start labeling them, your posts are IMMEDIATELY going to be hidden from EVERYONE.
