Kagome watched as Sesshoumaru slumped into his usual chair, heart twisting at the pained expression on his face. Her café had a constant influx of customers being connected to his library, and they'd come to a mutual agreement of expanding the area in between so patrons could read and eat at the same time.
She'd initially been worried that his books would get wrecked, but he'd not only encouraged people to sample her cooking, he'd created an incentive program for children who brought back their books in pristine condition.
She hadn't known what to expect when she'd signed the lease to her new space, not having met him yet, but although his height and serious expression could be off-putting, she'd soon learned he was nothing but a big softie.
He gave away just as many books as he rented, his sweater vests always matched his socks, and he had a secret sweet tooth that always had him taking his breaks at the same table, allowing an easy friendship to form with each passing day.
The only issue now was that her feelings had grown beyond friendship, and she wasn't sure how to approach him about it—especially with his current problem.

The train station was his least favorite place to go, and he avoided it for as long as he possibly could, but every once in a while it simply could not be helped.
Even he had places to be.
However, trains stank and they were too loud, a menagerie of squealing, clanking parts covered in dust, oil and smoke residue.
And then there were the people.
More people than the little market could ever hope to host even on its busiest holiday clumped together in a writhing mass of frustrated, sweating, swearing bodies who bumped and pushed and even sometimes spit when they didn’t feel like they were getting anywhere fast enough, everything all mixed together generally served to give Inuyasha a raging headache and shatter his patience, such as it was.
But his late father’s associate had sent his usual letters requesting his presence.
Then demanding.
Then begging , and he knew he couldn’t put it off any longer.
