Don’t imagine Jack waking up one day and watching his channel, frozen, to see the subscriber count steadily drop to zero.

Don’t imagine him refreshing the page over and over, thinking there has to be some kind of mistake.

Don’t imagine him frantically checking each video’s comments and seeing each of them being deleted one by one.

Don’t imagine him checking his other social media and seeing his follower counts drop with every refresh.

Don’t imagine that nobody responds to posts he makes in his panic, asking what’s happening and if anyone can help him.

Don’t imagine that even Robin, Ethan, Signe, or Felix don’t see these posts.

Don’t imagine him with a shaky hand on his computer mouse and trembling fingers on his keyboard.

Don’t imagine him going back to his channel and seeing that every video now has an error message and can’t be played.

Don’t imagine him looking at that frame he got from YouTube with all the nice comments in it and just seeing a blank piece of paper.

Don’t imagine him running to his recording room and seeing black marker scribbles on his whiteboard spelling “BUT NOBODY CAME”.

Don’t imagine him telling himself that it all has to be a bad dream.

Don’t imagine Jack trying to get himself to wake up, telling himself that he’s loved and that we haven’t all left him.

Do not tell me your younger brother would not break down in the middle of class because you guys started talking about your favorite type of subject in school.

Do not tell me your mother would not stare into the mirror with trembling lips wishing she could be bringing you home from the hospital rather than having to escort you away in a casket to the nearest graveyard.

Do not tell me your father would not begin working the night shifts to distract himself of the silence at home because you’re not up until the ungodly hours of the night talking to what’s-his/her-face on the phone because you guys are so in love.

Do not tell me your boyfriend/girlfriend would not go into your room and put on the last hoodie you wore trying to desperately imprint your scent onto their skin so they never forget your smell.

Do not tell me your friends would not stare blankly at the gymnasium wall after the principal has announced your death to the entire school making no sound trying to convince themselves this is just another one of your impractical jokes.
