the books don’t give us much when it comes to RENESMEE’S ABILITIES regarding her vampire & her human side. so in regards to my interpretation of renesmee, these are the following headcanons i have about her abilities and vampire characteristics. to start off with… renesmee is more human than she is a vampire. to put it into percentages –– she’s about 75 % human and 25 % vampire. she has more human characteristics than she does vampire ones.

–– SLEEPING. renesmee sleeps. she gets tired. exhausted even. though she sleeps for less amounts of time than a normal human. a normal human might get/need about 7 hours of sleep, renesmee can function just fine with less. it also takes her longer to get tired and wear herself out. but she sleeps & she dreams just like any normal human. –– SENSES. her senses are above average. her sight is slightly above perfect, being able to see small details that are not visible to the human eye. the rest of her senses ( taste, touch, smell, and hearing ) are all well above average as well. she can hear whispers from across a room easily though her abilities come no where near what a vampire can do. she is able to more distinctively taste certain flavors and her smell certain things more intensely. –– SPEED. renesmee is not as fast as a vampire. she’s not even half as fast as a vampire. her speed is a few notches above average. fast enough where she needs to conceal her true pace in public or around humans. she cannot keep up with a full vampire or a werewolf, she doesn’t even come close to being able to do so. –– SUSTENANCE. she eats. she enjoys food. she will gladly eat whatever is placed in front of her. however she does prefer blood. human ( from a bag ) or animal. she does not crave blood like a normal vampire, she does not have any issues around humans who are bleeding. she finds herself to be slightly stronger when she is running on blood rather than human food. she is a tad bit faster, stronger, and heals faster when she drinks blood. –– STRENGTH. much like her speed, she is not as strong as a vampire. she is a few notches above average in this area. she could likely easily defend herself against a person twice her size if it came down to ( god edward & jacob & bella forbid ). –– HEALING. renesmee’s skin is tougher than a normal humans. she is not as fragile, if she falls down and scrapes her knee there wouldn’t be a blemish on her skin. however, if she’s cut deep enough she WILL bleed. ( her skin tends to be tougher when she’s been drinking blood ). though she heals faster than a normal human, in about half the time. she heals even faster when she drinks blood. most of her vampire characteristics are more enhanced when she’s been drinking blood. –– TACTILE THOUGHT PROJECTION. this is her most canon ability. the ability to project her thoughts or memories into someone’s mind through a single touch. as a toddler this was her main form of communication. as she grew older she used this ability less and less and has learned to control it. her touch will not show you what she’s thinking UNLESS she wants it to. she seems to be able to do the opposite of what her parents can do. instead of reading minds ( like her father can ) she can show you what is in hers. and instead of being a shield ( like her mother ) she is able to penetrate them. –– EMOTIONS. renesmee has a normal array of emotions. though unlike the rest of her family she can show sadness or frustration through tears. she did not cry much as a child, or ever, really. but she is capable of crying. she never really comprehended true sadness until she grew older. as a child she was given everything she ever needed, there was no reason for her to be upset. –– HEARTBEAT. at a given point in time renesmee’s heart beats about twice as fast as a normal human being. when listened to it sounds like the flapping of a hummingbirds wings. almost like a slight flutter instead of an outright beat. her heart betas even faster when she is scared, frustrated or angry – and at that point it’s almost impossible to distinguish an individual beat.
