Bel chuckled as the girl’s mood instantly switched from worry to happy. She reminded Bel of herself, in a way.

“Well Naomi! Sit back and relax while I make the most amazing waffles you’ll ever have!”

With the essentials, Bel began to make the batter: the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder poured into the bowl. She mixed the ingredients with quick precision and just as fast, set out another bowl to mix the eggs and milk. With years of practice, one would think this looked easy!

Pouring in the eggs and milk into the batter, Bel began to hum a tune as she poured the batter into the waffle iron. “Are there any toppings you’d like Naomi?”

As he walked along with her, he gave her words some thought. Was he a bad person? Maybe not now, but there were some that considered him a villain years ago. ”I dunno! Am I a bad person!? No one has ever lived a life without doing some sort of evil. I guess that depends on the person and how others see them~”

 Seeing the girl’s happy face stirred inspiration in him and he started humming out his new melody. Before he knew it, he had already whipped out his notebook and pen again. Jotting down the first verse of his next masterpiece, he wasn’t paying attention to his surrounding again. Unsure if he was following the girl anymore, he continued walking in a straight path. Or what he thought to be one.

“♪~ ♪~ ♪~”

“Now, now, calm down. ‘Nee-chan isn’t underestimating you~”

As she tried to push him off, Arashi smiled fondly. Cute~ She looked like she was pouting~

“Here, here, we can compromise~ You can rest your head on ‘Nee-chan’s lap~”

Arashi punctuated his words by patting his lap with a hand. His lap probably wasn’t as comfortable as a girl’s lap would be since his legs were all muscle and hardly soft at all, put you could always put a pillow on his lap before lying down. Then it’d be perfectly comfortable.

“Then we can both use the couch, right?”

“Oh wow, they’re beautiful~” His purple arbs widen in surprise, it certainly was a lot. It made quite a large bouquet that Hajime gently cradled in his arms.

“Thank you so much, Naomi-chan. I’ll be sure to take good care of them~” Hajime give the girl a head pat once again. Being with her made him feel like he was his younger siblings again. It felt really nostalgic.

“I’m gonna go buy a vase for them. Would you like to join me? I’ll let you pick~”

“Yes, I moved here from Korea to study.”

Vasco did guess that she was going to be a foreigner like himself, but he had no way of guessing the reason for why she’d moved here. He wasn’t sure how to answer that to be honest. He went quiet as he tried to think about how he wanted to go about answering that, if he could even come up with anything. He was drawing a mental blank, so he just did what he thought was best to do in this situation.

Pat pat. It certainly did sound very unfair. He didn’t know the full situation, so he really couldn’t say anything about it. He chose to just stay quiet in order to not say anything that may offend her and instead pat the top of her head.

Ah, she was so crying. Def crying. 100% crying. Was she a cute lil’ sister type? he could oh so see it.

“Ok, ok~ then you aren’t crying” he conceded with a smile, moving back his hand when he noticed she was wiping her tears alone “I hope you didn’t got hurt either. If you did let me know, ok?”

Izumi rolled his eyes to the side at the sudden outburst from the girl. It was very stupid. If she wasn’t willing to admit that, then she was even more stupid than he would have thought.

Izumi blinked at the end of the sentence… slow. Blue eyes turning towards her. Was she actually considering bringing him something if he asked politely?

Ah. She was, without a doubt an absolute idiot. But an usable idiot.

“Hmn, so, if I do ask ‘nicely’ you’ll go get that water for me?” he asked, an arrogant tug on his lips forming some sort of sly smile.

“Ehehe. Thank you very much, Naomi-chan~” He smiles, tenderly patting the younger girl on top of her head.

No, it wasn’t his real name but it was a nickname that he is most often referred to as, so he just got used to introducing himself as such.

“My real name is Lee EunTae, but most call me Vasco.        It’s a nickname of mine.        I’m from Korea, so yes, I’m a foreigner.        What about you? Have you always lived here?”

He recognized that her name was Japanese, so she may have been every bit of a foreigner as he was. Though he felt a bit relieved, he was still a bit nervous, so his usual pokerface was still displayed on his face. He wasn’t mad, he’d assure you.

Yoichi tutted and felt around his belt.  “That’s what happens when you daydream while walking.  It’s hazardous.”  He found the small pocket he kept a pack of tissues in and removed them, pulling one out of the pack to hand to her.  Placing them back into his pocket, he snapped it shut and folded his arms.

“Now what am I supposed to do with you?  Do you need me to take you to a, uh…doctor’s office.  Or…walk you home…?”  He didn’t deal with children often enough to know what to do.  She seemed no worse for wear overall, but he didn’t want to just leave her to fend for herself.  Especially if she ends up with a concussion.

“It’s my civic duty as an officer to help a citizen in need or something like that.  So whatever you need…I’m Yoichi by the way.  Officer Oshiro if anyone with any authority asks.”

Bel chuckled. “Of course! I make the best waffles in Bellevue! Here have a seat and you’ll see~” She led her to a small table, pulling out a chair and motioned her to sit down.

“I’m Bel by the way! I’d love to know your name petite dame.”

As she waited for the girl’s response, Bel made her way to the counter, gathering all the essentials. With the store now closed, she could focus on the girl in front of her. She looked like the type that likes strawberries, so that’s what Bel was going to put on her waffles.

Hearing her innocent answer, he felt some need to protect her. Maybe it was his brotherly instincts kicking in. “Hmmm~ You have a good papa, don’t ya? I’m happy you think that way~ But you should still be careful, even around people like me.” Luckily, this girl wasn’t his little sister, otherwise he’d make any guy that randomly talked to her regret he ever lived.

 Nodding at her proposal to lead the way, he was glad to have found someone so reliable. It wasn’t like he didn’t know how to use the GPS on his phone, nor has he lost it this time. Whenever he used it, he still ended up straying away from the designated route in favour of his inspiration. He mustfollow them! But this time, he was ready to follow the girl without straying.

“Alright! Lead the way Nao~ Let’s charge towards the shop and claim our icy treat! I’ll watch your back and destroy any obstacles in our way! Wahahaha☆”
