i'm not sure if there are even any products of this sort on the market, but basically i really enjoy chewing on fabric, and was hoping you would know if there are any chewies with a similar texture? at this point most of my cloth napkins have holes in them which is really not ideal lol. i've got a couple of chewable toys (specifically one of those tough bar chew stixx), which are alright, but my preference really is for fabric. any thoughts?

You can actually make a chewable from fabric yourself. See instructions here.

You can also search etsy for chewies made from fabric (usually cotton).

I can't tolerate things in my mouth but I do clench my jaw a lot and like to bite things, so I was looking at the thinnest chewy I could find and came across the chewth pick from ark. Do you have any experience with these? Or maybe some other alternatives? Thank you!

I personally LOVE the chewth picks! They have also recently made some very thin chewies, including the chewable loop necklace and the guitar pick necklace.

Any recommendations for people who can’t stand silicone but still want oral stim toys?

Hi!

There are multiple options for chewers who for one reason or another cannot/don’t want their chewie to be made of silicone.

None of ARK Therapeutic products are made from silicone. These are a great option as they are all available in 3 different toughness levels, meaning that almost regardless of how avid of a chewer you are they will have something that suits your needs.

Chubuddy also makes some chewies from other materials than silicone. The springz bracelet, the strong tube or the Zillas are not made from silicone.

Out of all of these options the strong tube is for the most aggressive/avid chewers, but the XXT option from ARK Therapeutic comes close!

Hi. I recently decided to spare my pens their miserable fate and get something that’s actually meant to be chewed on. Your blog has helped me a ton already just scrolling through. I’d never have thought there’s so many options. But I have a hard time finding a shop that sells to Germany at all or without very high shipping costs. Do you know of any?

Avatar

Hello and welcome!

I can relate to the excitement of finding out how many amazing chewies only to find out the shipping costs (and added import taxes) would make it basically impossible for someone to buy chewies regularly (when old ones break, testing out what they like etc).

I have done some looking around and here is what I’ve found:

Amazon.de

-Amazon has quite a few chewies. Most are made of silicone, which is a safe material to use but isn’t nearly as durable as some other materials that are used in chewies (such as ARKs XXT, Chubuddy’s strong tube material etc). Most sellers and products are not selling established brands and their products. This may not automatically be a “red flag” but some products are very clearly just “copied and pasted” (such as ARKs brickstick) but made in a slightly different size and in different materials.

-These guys seem to be resellers of offical Chewigem products. Prices are higher than in Chewigems own UK store, but you will save money on shipping and taxes so this will most likely save you money.

-These guys sell ARK Therapeutic products at reasonable prices.

-Another ARK reseller in Germany

Flower Chewies by ARK Therapeutic - https://bit.ly/3OIqNxV (link to all 3 products)

The flower chewies from ARK Therapeutic come in 3 different styles: handheld, pencil topper and pendant.

The petals of the flower are available in ARKs 3 different color coded toughness levels (regular, XT and XXT). In the Flower Wand, the green stem is always made with green (XT). This means that you can try out two different toughness levels in one product, great if you are just between two different levels or just want to try out the different ones.

The flowers are available in various shades of pink, red, purple, blue and yellow. Green and orange are not available (as of writing this review).

As the flower is quite thick, this chewie is not meant to be chewed with back teeth. Because it is quite thick it also means that this chewie feels harder than a slimmer chewie in the same toughness level. Keep this in mind. If the chewer usually prefers XXT, I would recommend considering with going with XT if this chewie is thicker and bigger than the chewies the chewer is used to. The stem on the handheld version can reach the back teeth.

I would say that this is a chewie that lives up to the quality that we have come to expect from ARK chewies. It is also nice to have the same design in 3 different models - meaning that if a chewer really likes this style they can have one that is handheld (used at home for example), a pencil topper for use at school and a pendant to bring with them outside or on trips.

The Flower Wand has a hole at the bottom of the stem so it can be attached to a lanyard or chewie holder.

Just found this blog, & Im hoping 4 recommendations? I chew A Lot (sucking & just having smth in my mouth is also good), & my current go to is an adult pacifier, which I love, but I go thru them rly fast cuz theyre so soft, & I might like sum other options. Im not big on soft tube type toys (like silicone straws), but all the solid silicone ones like u might find at Stimtastic seem 2 make me clench rly hard til my jaw hurts, even the softer ones. Any ideas would b nice, even non soft stuff tbh.

Welcome! For you I would recommend getting something hollow as it should mimic the feeling of a pacifier (to my knowledge, at least). The thing i immediatly thought of was the strong tube from chubuddy (https://chubuddy.com/pages/strong-tubes) but they are quite hard, so i think the slim one may be best for you. Alternatively you could try out some of ARK Therapeutics products, almost all of them are solid. A slimmer one, like the Kryptobite (https://www.arktherapeutic.com/arks-krypto-bite-chewable-gem-necklace/?aff=17), might work well for you? Followers, any of you experienced something like this?

Feel free to send in another ask if you didnt like either of these options!

Hi! I'm super sorry if this is an odd question (I'm not sure what is counted as an odd question here), but do you know where I could find chewies that reach the back teeth? I have a few chew pendants that I've received as gifts, but those only reach my front/middle teeth at the farthest and I desperately want to find something that I can chew on with my back teeth (especially something textured, but anything works). I'm somewhere between a mild/moderate chewer (probably a little more towards moderate), and most of the ones I've found online would be way too tough for me so I'm just kinda lost on where I'd find some that would work.

When I read your question I immediately thought of the Brickstick in XT. It's textured and can reach back teeth for molar chewing. Other options, such as the kryptobite and bitesaber exist, too. To see all of ARKs chewies that are chewable with back teeth, click here.

Based on your description, I would recommend that you get the chewies in regular or XT. A fair warning though, the regular chewies tend to squeak somewhat, but the XT squeaks much less. To minimize squeaking, you can apply chapstick to the chewie. (Read more in the chewie care page).

Hello! I’m interested in getting a chewy for stimming (I’ve never had one before), but I have a lot of anxiety around germs and I’m worried I’ll get too anxious about the germs on the chewy to use it. Do any of them come in some sort of case that’s easy to take on and off, or do you have other advice for me? Thank you!

ARK Therapeutic makes two different chewie cases. I’ll link to both of them here:

You can also use a plastic baggy to keep your chewie in your pocket or get a pencil case to keep your chewies in. It’s all down to personal preferrence.

I'm looking for very tough durable chews (necklaces are preferable but I'll look at other options too!). I chew at the inside of my mouth, primarily with my molars, and I've broken stimtastic's macaron necklace for tough chewing within a month of owning it. I like solid oblong ones (Example: brick shape).

There are a few different ones that I'd recommend.

The most durable option by far is the Strong tube by chubuddy.

Another durable option would be the smooth brick stick by ARK Therapeutic or the MEGA brickstick

Hi! I refuse to wear jewlery but I'm horrible about picking at and biting my nails and skin - do you know of any good, more discreet chewies?

unfortunately most of the discreet chewies are chewelery, but ARK does make some really discreet pen topper chewies!

Other than that you could enjoy the MEGA kryptobite.

Followers, do you have any additional examples of non-chewlery discreet chewies?

I need help finding a chewy that is made of silicone that has different texture, and has to be more for chewing with the back teeth.

An excellent choice for you would be the Chewnoodle Super or the Chewnoodle bumpy (red/blue)

How durable and soft are the Ark Therapy chew levels compared to the Zilla line? I'm looking to replace my Zilla necklace which begun to break down. It's lasted a while but I managed to break the bottom stem part of the Mushroom chew at stimtastic in a week. I wanna try Ark Therapy because I feel like some of theirs will be better for sucking but I worry they won't be durable or soft enough to use as a chew on it's own.

I would rate the Zilla as durable as or even more durable than the XXT. When it comes to softness it depends on the individual chewie (depending on how thick it is) but overall the Zilla is about the same toughness as the XT.

If you're looking for a more durable chewie than the Zilla, I would recommend a longer lasting XXT chewie (like the Y chew or the tetrabite) or the strong tube in 1/2" or 9/16".
