nobody's unlovable and loneliness isn't new, this just what happens when the first generation of men and boys allowed to say "I desire kindness" emerge at at same time as women and girls allowed to say "I don't owe men anything".
And they're both right, they're both correct- Masculine figures are allowed to ask to be treated gently and Feminine figures are allowed to decide who they share intimacy with.
The PROBLEM is men thinking "I deserve gentleness" is the same as "someone owes me intimacy".
The PROBLEM is women thinking that "I don't owe you gentleness" is the same as "I don't have to treat you well".
Men need to start GIVING what they ask for.
Women need to be FIRM without being cruel.
If men were kinder and gentler, if we raised our boys with emotional literacy and taught them compassion and self-care and generosity, personal responsibility and concern for others, they wouldn't see WOMEN as a united monolith marching out to deny them their "right"- they'd have support networks and friendships of their own to rely on, not just a mom or a wife to dump all their needs onto.
Men being lonely isn't new. They're just allowed to talk about it. And, coincidentally, the socially-conditioned second-class-citizen support role is rapidly vanishing. We've yet to stabilize: its that instability that has people chewing at the rope.
It's a rough transition, but that's all it is. A step to something better.

Might just be the depression talking but i feel the feedback and length of time of a challenge changes how rewarding it feels. Most games are designed to peak in difficulty and reward the player around the same time. Life doesn't work like that. Retail doesn't get harder throughout the day and then rewards you with cash at the end. You struggle daily for 1-2 weeks then get sent a check.
Sometimes it is an easy pay period other times its incredibly difficult, but regardless you get rewarded the same. Thus why people may feel better about overcoming video game challenges while not feeling even a fraction of that reward by doing real life tasks.
If confetti rained down and victory music played when I fucking cleaned my room you bet I'd be way more consistent with it.

I know you’ve had cats before and already gotten a lot of advice but thought I’d chip in some as well. It’s been a while since I’ve had a kitten under 10 weeks old but if ur kitten still needs help going to the bathroom cotton pads work great. And make sure to boop them on the nose (both because it’s fun and also if ur worried about if they’re too hot as an adult they’ll be used to it) Also get them used to you looking at their gums as young as possible, I’ve found it’s easier to tell if theyre anemic based off gums than ears or butt or toes personally. Plus checking regularly helps u to know what their gums look like normally. Pls give your kitten pets for me.

Not sure if you’ve already gotten this advice but a good way to also socialize your kitten is to gently bother them and scoop them up and carry them occasionally
Obviously don’t overdo it but the more you teach them that humans are grabbing them for benign reasons the more they’ll be likely to let you clip their claws or stay still for the vet
We got cat #1 when she was too old to socialize and the difference between cat #1 and cat #2, who /was/ socialized and bothered is like night and day. Cat #1 isn’t mean, but she’s half feral and terrified of any human contact besides occasional petting while cat #2 can be picked up and manipulated as much as needed
Oh also; every cat I’ve ever had has /hated/ to have their back claws clipped, I don’t think this is the case for every cat but be aware that your new guy may wiggle and scream more when you get to the back claws
If you have any breakable items in your house I would recommend getting some good reusable adhesive and sticking anything you don’t want pushed off the shelf down
