listening to fleetwood mac is like. i don’t know this song but let’s give it a shot. oh wait i do know this song. i’ve heard it a million times and always liked it, i just didn’t know the name. on some level i kind of assumed that song was just an ambient part of the world the way the sound of the wind or birdsong in the trees was but apparently it’s by fleetwood mac. neat.

It really fucking sucks to make this post, but a raw moment from me: I've spent 8 of the last 12 months unemployed, and my savings are gone and I am still job hunting and I just... need help. So, here's me, hat in hand. Thanks for reading ;-;

kami is really good people who is working their ass off to try and get through this crushing period of their life. the games industry is in shambles, and i can personally vouch for their hard work at job hunting and exhaustion of every single other resource available. if you can help them not become homeless, that would be great.

I might just be extremely in my thirties now but I simply cannot take any sort of fandom discourse anymore. I barely could before but I am at maximum capacity. just... just watch the thing and enjoy it or whatever, be nice to each other, isn't life hard enough

Honestly the Netflix ATLA adaptation isn't terrible and everyone is having a conniption over something they don't need to watch or gripe about. The OG cartoon still exists in all of it's splendor and if that's how you want to keep it, by all means.

It's 2024, like... I don't know what to tell y'all. Get a job. Do your taxes. Leave others to enjoy things.

I second this. The original show was and still is amazing and the existence of any adaptation does not tarnish its legacy in any way.

And this adaptation really is quite enjoyable! They made a few choices that I personallly find questionable and a few that I might even (lower those torches and pitchforks please) prefer over the original. Which is to say, they did a few things really well.

I'll name only one example below the cut of one such creative decision that I think enhances the emotional impact, but there were a few.

All in all, though, the show certainly isn't bad, and it does not affect the original in any way whatsoever. If people don't want to watch it, that's fine. But it's not a moral failing if someone does watch and even like it.
