I absolutely love that this shop has proper plus sized models for their yukata!

Link specifically to their plus sized yukata selection: https://item.rakuten.co.jp/love-berry/c/0000000108/

FUCK YEAH!!!

Though the Japanese fashion industry is slowy offering more and more taller/bigger items to cater to the needs of their clients, plus size models are still far too rare in kimono photoshoots, so great modeling is always a joy :D :D :D

How do I explain to you people that interracial relationships are okay

Not every white person dating a POC is fetishizing. White people can be respectful and responsible when it comes to culture and relationships and not everyone has bad intentions.

Asian people can date Black people without you saying shit like “your kids will be so pretty” they’re not dating for pretty kids. They’re dating bc they like each other.

Someone can dress their partner in clothing from their culture if they want. Someone can take their partner to cultural events if they want.

People in relationships can share cultures, experiences and love without it being toxic or skin deep.

Their partner isn’t culturally appropriating. Their partner is being shown the ultimate form of love, bc their partner trusts them and loves them enough to share their history and heritage.

Yeah, dating someone from your culture is nice bc you automatically have similar experiences. But you’re not limited to dating people with the same experiences. Loving someone is sharing and growing and being together.

Interracial relationships aren’t always toxic, and some of y’all need to stop projecting onto other people.

👆 THIS 👆 👏👏👏

Calling ineterracial relationships toxic or fetishizing just seem like anti race mixing or racism with extra steps

This reminded me of this

Tom Bombadil should be an aspirational character for everyone with issues setting boundaries actually bc he's just like Wow that sounds hard. Absolutely not my circus though. Enjoy a song and some bread. Anyway bye

Like may we all have the power to look someone who is Clearly the Protagonist dead in the eye at some point in our lives and be like. Nah

Dude puts on the Ring and doesn’t so much as flicker out of existence. That’s some masterful levels of Somebody Else’s Problem.

I’m posting way too much today but does anyone have a recipe that involves beans they’d like to share? My doctor has told me I should make beans an essential part of my diet but it’s getting a bit bland.

I’ve of course already looked up recipes on the internet but I feel like I’m missing out on some yummy local stuff that isn’t super widespread. Like I know for a fact South American cuisine use beans a lot but the recipes that end up on the internet are pretty limited.

Mushi no tareginu 虫の垂衣 (travelling attire) by Nadeshiko Rin. This is I think on of the medieval outfit you guys are the most curious about. It is so recognizable, it’s one of my favourite too :D

This travelling outfit was worn by noble women during Kamakura era. Because of the Shogunate was set in this town, people came and go. Despite the inherent dangers of travelling, women were not an unsual sight on the roads. Most of them were pilgrims, visiting shrines and temples.

Nowadays, this attire is also named uchikatsugi, though to be precise, katsugi is another type of medieval head covering with a special kimono-like garment put over the head.

The trademark item of this attire is the long veil made from thin karamushi 苧麻 (ramie) which over time was transcribed as mushi 虫 (insect). It was used to shield wearer from the wind/rain/sun, and as protection from insects. It also shielded women from prying eyes, protecting their identity and privacy.

Other part of this outfit are:

  • ichimegasa 市女笠 - a large straw hat worn by women
  • kakeobi 掛け帯 - a red ribbon tied around the torso and hanging low on the back, used by women to signal they were on pilgrimage
  • kakemamori 掛け守 - amulet box holding sutra or omamori
  • kazari himo 飾り紐 - decorative strings, also used to hold the veil opened
  • uchiki 袿 - the court clothing of the time. For travel, women would tuck their hems up with a string around their waist
  • kyahan 脚絆  - gaiters/leg warmers
  • tsue 杖 - walking stick, often made from bamboo
  • obuto no zôri 緒太の草履 - type of shoes worn by the noble class (with thick hanao straps)

The Ring: If I had a quarter for every time a hobbit picked me up, I’d have two quarters.  The Ring: Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

Of all the bearers of Sauron’s ring, 4 of them were hobbits.

I was wrong. It’s 5. Not 4

The lineage of ring bearers is as follows.

  1. Sauron.
  2. Isildur
  3. Deagol
  4. Sméagol
  5. Bilbo
  6. Frodo
  7. Samwise

I love how Deagol counts as a ring bearer even though he had it in his possession for all of like five seconds

He held it for the rest of of his life!

[Image description: Tweet by @banalplay saying “but something happened then that the ring did not intend. it was picked up by the most unlikely creature imaginable: a hobbit, the same fuckin thing that just had it for like 500 years.” End Image Description.] Link to original here. Otherwise reblogging for the final rb there, which made me cackle.

From the ring’s perspective:

1. Home, the finger of my creator and other self.

2. Well, I don’t like it but I can work with this. Cause some trouble, get some revenge, find my way home, this is fine.

3. What the fuck is you?

4. Right personality, wrong species, I don’t know what you are but I hate you and I don’t know why you’re so resistant to my powers.

5. NO NO NO there are goblins everywhere how did I find another one of THESE horrible things. This one’s even more resistant than the last one and also disgustingly nice. I suffer.

6. Listen, I’ll cooperate, just get me the fuck out of this hellhole full of small cheerful people my power doesn’t work on properly. No, not like that. I hate you. Please stop.

7. FUCK

8. (Frodo again) I still hate you with every molecule of my mortal form but at least you’re not number seven. Think I’m starting to get through finally.

9. (Smeagol again) YES it’s you I actually missed you now get me back to the Master and NO FUCK NO I HATE YOOOOUUUUU…. *fzt*

so i just finished watching the extended editions of the trilogy which is nearly 13 hrs long and this meme is correct somehow. this is the only line legolas speaks to frodo in the entire series. the only other debatable line is a scene in fellowship where legolas is speaking to gimli but frodo just happens to be near them and he’s cut to for a reaction shot. i wouldn’t really count it though since it wasnt directed at him.

someone already posted this but the kicker is at the end of return of the king where frodo sees the fellowship again and calls out to everyone by name except for legolas lmaooo

PLS i swear i saw this in another version of this post but i can’t find it now 😭

if anyone knows who wrote this scenario tag them so they can have credit asldfjslkf

@pretend-im-not-there is the one who wrote the previous scenario! and @insomniarama came up with froyo and ham 😂 so:

As a fan of architecture, I had been meaning to check out the Jiyu Gakuen Miyonichikan (自由学園明日館), an old school designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built in 1921, for a while, and I finally managed to go last week. They have uncommon opening days for visits because they host a lot of weddings and meetings, so you need to check their calendar on their website. Anyway, like the nerd I am, I dressed up in the colours of the building. I posted the pictures of the building separately HERE. Outfit rundown: Hat: Vintage Cardigan: thrifted Fint Blouse: old FF21 Skirt: second-hand Mary Magdalene Bag: second-hand Axes Femme Shoes: second-hand Queen Bee Coat: Mary Magdalene Tights: Taobao from a long time ago Painting brooch: vintage Wood harp brooch: Zack Zack Seiffen Stamp cat brooch: Via Carousel Shiso earrings: I can’t remember the artist from Design Festa
