CUBIRIRA lives in the deepest part of the Brazilian Amazon, perfectly camouflaged with its covering of fungi and lichens. While sleeping, the fungi on its back can release harmful spores to protect their host from dangers. The locals have farmed these spores for generations. In exchange, they feed it giant Coccoloba leaves and keep its existence a secret from outsiders.

Featured in a number of myths, ZABUDON has roamed the Mediterranean sea for centuries. Multiple clay tablets have been found documenting the financial damage caused by this monster in ancient times. Even today, its territoriality often results in millions in losses by disrupting cargo ship courses. Its tusks and claws are covered in a golden enamel that is coveted by many.

bonus Zabudon facts:

  • Its barnacles are so tough they can break through a ship's hull. They are so large that they have barnacles on their barnacles.
  • It can swim and walk underwater, but it can also gallop on land. Its skin dries up if it stays out of water for too long.
  • It appears on a multitude of old maritime maps, to symbolize danger.
  • In its skin folds live child-sized whale lice that sometimes fall off when it walks on land.
  • Despite being prone to fits of rage and highly destructive, it is regarded as a "good" monster that protects the Eastern Mediterranean from other monster attacks.

im being told i dont make enough noise about insiders so heres this post. ive been busy with my day job but here's where im at so far:

  • i'm working on a website with character bios, kaiju lore and music
  • yes insiders is also music and i can even show you a preview track right now: https://on.soundcloud.com/WKf3R (feedback is welcome)
  • i'm writing a story that will either stay in written form with some illustrations or some sort of comic
  • i have around 20+ monsters right now that i'm wondering if i should just dump all at once as sketches/unfinished or "release" one at a time as big renders like the ones ive posted before

this is actually an issue for me cause i have a ton of unposted art, and my brain worms force me to only post works im satisfied with. but all in all ive been working on my monsters and insiders for about 9 years so i think its about time i just unleash this stuff in some form. heres a couple of kaitengu sketches i like. and an unnamed kaiju wip
