I just remembered after his fight with Erwin about not going on the expedition Levi took out his frustration on two kids and then went on to sit on the ground in some deserted and dark corner to drink by his lonesome. And it hit me again how much he loved him and now I wanna cry.
That scene gets me every time, in both the manga and the anime. It’s one of the few times that we actually see Levi loosing control, which speaks volumes about his state of mind when he left Erwin. The image of him sitting drinking alone just breaks my heart every time. He knows he’s already lost Erwin, and for all his strength, there’s nothing he can do to stop him.
