Ways to support Ukraine 🇺🇦

More than 500,000 people have already left Ukraine due to the invasion by the Russian Federation. The European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management estimates that roughly 18 million Ukrainians will be affected by the conflict in humanitarian terms, with 7 million internally displaced and 4 million seeking refuge elsewhere. To help those still in Ukraine, as well as Ukrainian refugees, we’ve compiled this list of resources.

The add includes the line “Let’s clean ourselves of compulsory Ukrainian Nazism” (not my translation) and links having a Ukrainian name to nazism. And yet people are still debating on Ruzzia’s intent for this war and what they mean by “denazification” (hint: it has nothing to do with nazis)

This isn't the first time they are doing this too. A lot of people of various nationalities who lived under the russian boot have had their surname changed to a russian one. With Crimean Tatars, practically everybody has a surname ending with -ev/-ov, which is not indigenous to them

The total population of Ukraine pre-2022 was about 40 million.

(1.6 + 5 + 7) / 40 = 0.34 = 34%

That's one third of all Ukrainians, who are 'displaced', in the best case meaning they had to leave their home and live with friends or family now in a safer part of Ukraine or are refugees in other countries, or in the worst case have been deported to Russia and ended up in some filtration or labor camp or prison, or dead.

Vilnius Celebrating Its 700th Birthday

Today, on 23rd of August 1989 at 7pm Eastern European Summer Time, about 2 million Estonians, Latvians and Lithuanians formed a 600 kilometer long human chain that started from Tallinn, Estonia and ended in Vilnius, Lithuania to peacefully demand freedom that was forcefully robbed from them by Soviet Union because of the secret protocol that was part of the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact.

People brought out their national flags decorated with black ribbons and lit candles to remember those who were brutally murdered by communist regime -  Forest brothers, political prisoners and people who were sent to Siberia.

If your revolution can't survive unless you institute single-party rule, engage in mass censorship of the media, use state violence and show trials to suppress dissent, and use a secret police to root out suspected dissidents, your revolution is functionally just another coup and does nothing to actually liberate the people you claim to be fighting for
