1. [LINK] This Alexis/Stevie drawing is one of my first favorites. I loved drawing the softness of their features and hair. This was also the drawing that made me realize how much I love drawing textiles, and I would happily spend hours drawing Alexis’s sweater again.

2. [LINK] This one isn’t a particularly strong drawing of mine, but it made the list because I love the energy of it. It was one of the first where I really started to push yellow in my drawings.

3. [LINK] This one made the list because I love the level of detail I was able to achieve here. I spent a really long time on this drawing and it feels like it paid off. 

4. [LINK] This is a close crop of a NSFW drawing on my patreon. I really love it because it was one of those drawings where I got into the flow of it and it felt effortless. My strong suit with drawing is nude anatomy, that’s how I spent most of my classical training: drawing nude models.

5. [LINK] Finally, my final drawing of the year. I have similar feelings on this one as I do on number 3, I spend a lot of time on it to achieve a lot of detail and I’m proud. I really enjoyed drawing the textile patterns on Patrick’s blanket.

What a year!

2020 has been a pretty rough one all around for me, but one of the only positives has been my fandom experience. I fell into watching Schitt’s Creek around November of 2019, but I didn’t really find any footing in fandom until I posted my first fic in years in April of this year. 

Shortly after, I got back into digital illustration. It had been several years since I’d drawn digitally, and even more since I’d drawn fanart. Didipickle’s fic inspired me, and it was all downhill from there. 

I didn’t realize how much art I’ve actually made until I started compiling this. Above you can see a roughly chronological sampling of my art from this year. Featured are most of the major players, but there are several that didn’t make the cut, including commissions, most of my NSFW art on my AO3 and patreon, and larger narrative pieces (several pieces are also cropped for size, clarity, and to make them SFW).

Since April, I’ve drawn over 35 pieces of fanart, participated in 3 fests/exchanges, taken several commissions, and launched a Patreon that has nearly 40 subscribers. 

My work has crossed several themes and settings, though as you can see cuddling is a main factor in nearly all of it (what can I say, it was a rough year). David and Patrick are my favorite to draw, and I’m always striving to capture their likenesses more and more. I still love the challenge of drawing a new face, though.

Seeing all my work like this is interesting, I can see where I made new, bold choices with color, where a dam broke and I suddenly learned how to draw a thing I’d been struggling with, and where I still struggle, where I notice errors in anatomy and face structure.

But still, I grew a lot! I’m proud of all I’ve accomplished this year, and I’m glad to have shared it with all of you!
