IRENE #6 IS ON ITS WAY.

This is undoubtedly the biggest Irene yet. At 216 pages, this comics and art anthology is filled to the brim with contributors based in every continent on the planet Earth. Yes, even Antarctica.

Contributors include: Marc Bell, Lucy Bellwood, Nick Cartwright, Marta Chudolinska, d.w., Jai Granofsky, Leif Goldberg, Luke Howard, Ben Juers, Sean Knickerbocker, Dakota McFadzean, Lena Merhej, No Tan Parecidos, Carolyn Nowak, Katie Parrish, Ben Passmore, Jackie Roche, Shennawy, Frøydis Sollid Simonsen, Kevin Uehlein, Tillie Walden, Andy Warner, and Natsuko Yoshino.

This book contains tigers. So many tigers.

Irene is edited by Andy Warner, dw, and Dakota McFadzean. It’s a rainbow of color, a dream of beauty, a wild bust of lafter ‘an regular hot stuff.

I am very honored always to be in an Irene Anthology - but especially this one. I am connected to every continent. The tiger boils inside me. Amen. So sayeth the Lord.

Everyone could use a little more “go and see” in their comics lives. We spend a lot of time wrapped up in what we’re interested in, so sometimes we miss new projects or comics. I thought I’d take a few seconds to point out some things you should have a gander at - new projects, ongoing comics,...

Irene 4 Contributor Spotlight: “Zapruder 313” by Luke Howard.

Luke Howard is the first-ever return contributor to the pages of Irene, having shaken and stirred us with Irene 3’s stunning “Dance Yourself to Death”. He storms the pages of Irene 4 with “Zapruder 313”, a to-the-point examination, experienced through the eyes of a nocturnal adolescent and his buddy, of just how much an entire world can change in the click-over between two frames of film.

Irene 4 makes its debut at TCAF TOMORROW and will be available wherever fine comics are sold thanks to our new partnership with Hic & Hoc Publications,

Hollow in the Hollows, published by One Percent Press, will debut at TCAF 2014. This 32 page, two color story is about a young girl who becomes obsessed with something secret she finds in a hollow tree.

Irene 4 Contributor Spotlight: Drawings by Amy Lockhart.

Amy Lockhart is a filmmaker, cartoonist and animator whose animations have screened at festivals internationally. Her book Dirty Dishes was published by Drawn and Quarterly in 2009. She also did the cover for Nog a Dod, the collection of prehistoric Canadian psychedoolia published by Conundrum Press. For Irene 4, Amy produced some meditative, creepy pencil drawings of ladies. Some of them don’t have arms.
