wkm chapter 4 explanation

  • the colonel is looking out for celine and damien like he’s the only one who cares about them. juxtapose that to colonel’s reaction to mark’s death.
  • amy did the amazing special effects with the green/blue/black room.
  • original idea was that damien was going to be first to be shot, and that the colonel’s descent to madness was stemmed from having shot his friend.
  • its not fair is it scene - mark’s body is completely fucked up. the scene where mark walks down the stairs, mark’s body is very damaged. that’s not mark saying the line, its someone speaking through mark’s body.
  • even if you die in the house, you’re not actually really dead, but your body keeps getting more and more broken.
  • after celine left, mark spiraled down, and possibly tried to kill himself, but it didn’t work. mark stabbed himself, drowned himself, etc. to try and push the limits.
  • mark’s wife left him, his friend betrayed him, and there’s this voice that tells mark “that’s not fair”, because its not fair. why should they be happy? – “they shouldn’t be happy. maybe they don’t deserve to be happy. maybe you should set something up to make sure they won’t ever be happy again.”
  • the house is “cursed” and plays into mark’s mind and pushes him into doing things. the longer you’re in the house, the worse you become.
  • the colonel killed mark, but it wasn’t intentional. mark set up that he could frame the colonel for his death, and then mark could steal the colonel’s body and get revenge.
  • mark is a heartbroken idiot.
  • the house sees mark’s plan of taking over the colonel’s body but when the house “sees” celine, it poses a new plan that mark should take over damien’s body (who has a higher position of power) and get out scot free. this causes damien to become upset.
  • damien just wants to help. he’s a good boi™.
  • the colonel was waiting there the entire time and cradling damien’s cane, mourning him, the entire night. that doesn’t mean madness, it means regret. the colonel’s madness was seeing the broken body come back up and thinking that its a joke.
  • colonel didn’t get closure as to what happened about damien and that’s why he runs off.
  • wilford warfstache’s suspenders are pink because its faded from the original red.
  • the colonel wears bowties because of damien??
  • when the glass breaks in the mirror, you’re not looking yourself in the eyes, it’s not your body anymore.
  • in all of damien’s good intentions, he kicked you out of your body. so damien and celine are merged together and you the viewer are stuck trapped in the house.
  • mark asked the colonel to meet in the cellar for a drink, hence the broken bottle. mark wanted everything to be fine between them, but the colonel was uncertain. so mark decided to play a game and they ended up playing a game of russian roulette. mark ended up getting shot, but mark wanted it to happen, but the colonel ended up freaking out about it and tried to cover it up.
  • in conclusion, it’s WHY kill markiplier, instead of who.

wkm chapter 3 explanation

  • colonel was in jumanji???
  • celine is able to suddenly turn everyone against us. the seer is manipulative - which is a key point to dark’s character.
  • celine and mark were married and then colonel “steals” celine away.
  • mark’s death is not the main focus. the whole point of wkm is why he was killed.
  • when celine lived with mark, she noticed that the house was “off”.
  • amy did the special effects with the burned paper.
  • there’s one frame when you come back from your visions where the coloring is the same as darkiplier.
  • celine wants what she wants and won’t let anything get in her way. she wants to know why mark was killed and wants to understand the house.
  • celine has a bit of a temper… much like dark.
  • butler and chef put up with each other, but they don’t like each other.
  • mark thought of damien and celine being brother and sister, but he mark said that it’s up to interpretation.
  • why does it not lightning when george the groundskeeper says murder?? - because he hasn’t been inside the house for 15 years.
  • george knows practically everything about the house and knows to stay away, and therefore the only one who knows how to prevent bad things.
  • chef and george are good friends.
  • the people that go in the house have bad things happen to them. (like american horror story murder house)
  • celine becomes possessed at the end because she dabbled into some dark magic that went too far. damien was in the room with her. celine did not kill damien.
  • george, chef, mark, and colonel have lived in the house the longest.

wkm chapter 2 explanation

  • since the viewer can’t talk, the detective serves as their “voice”.
  • the colonel pops in and out of existence, but he’s not the only one who can do that.
  • it’s so apparent that wilford doesn’t like mark.
  • detective and mark have been friends for a long time. mark went quiet when mark lost contact with damien and the colonel.
  • mark has always hired detective abe to investigate people and that’s how they became friends.
  • the pictures on the table show the timeline and the fact that damien, colonel, mark, and celine are all friends.
  • the first photo of the three of them all laughing shows them all together as friends.
  • second photo shows the entrance of celine into their friend group.
  • third image is just damien and mark, shows that colonel and celine ran off, leaving damien and mark behind.
  • we’re on the second floor, but when the colonel takes ups outside, it shows that the house fucks with us and shows the laws of physics don’t apply.
  • the colonel used to live in that house, he considers it his own.
  • mark and the colonel were the same age and grew up in the same house (mark even debated making them brothers).

  • damien confirmed does keg stand
  • each version of mark has their own life saying, mark - “life is for the living”. mayor damien - “life is ours to chose”. colonel - “life needs a bit of madness”.
  • the party scene foreshadows all the events
  • damien is stuck in the “upside down” (nod to stranger things)
  • detective has a curse - partners end up dying, so that foreshadows our impending death.
  • important moment during party scene where one bullet is loaded into the gun, and ends up “shooting” the detective.
  • scene with wilford with the gun to his head symbolizes that death becomes meaningless to him.
  • damien is the one who helps you in the end and is blue on purpose.
  • butler tyler is a drug dealer???
  • ethan was originally supposed to be a maid.
  • the grey in certain scenes is only just the lighting.
  • 1:30 is a very important time.
  • mark reached out to the colonel to try and mend wounds/make up, but the colonel doesn’t like mark. damien is hurt by the colonel’s dismissal.
  • amy did all the costuming.
  • mark wanted the colonel to be modeled after the hunter from jumanji.
  • broken wine bottle is important.
  • damien is honestly a good guy!!!
  • damien, mark, and the colonel have been friends since they were kids.
  • the “2017” on the little buddy shots aren’t supposed to be there, they were a goof from mark.

damien, mark, and the colonel have been friends since they were kids. and that’s why damien doesn’t understand why the colonel isn’t distraught about the whole situation. I’M CRYING
