I have contacted 23 of the 24 users that never received a gift as part of the Secret Santa exchange.
The only person I couldn’t find is realfuturebluepaladin. If anyone knows if this user is still on Tumblr, could you message me their current user name? I want to do all I can to make sure I don’t miss anyone.
For those that I did message, please try to respond to me by the end of Saturday, April 27th.
If I don’t hear from you by then, I will try to reach out one more time. If I still don’t hear anything within three days, I will have to assume that you do not want to receive a gift or that you are no longer on Tumblr.
As of right now, I’ve heard back from 13 of the 23 I’ve contacted. I will try to reach out again to those remaining 10 in the morning (it’s currently 21:30 MST for me) to see if there’s something I can make for you.
Again, if I don’t hear back from you within three days, I’ll say by the time I shut down for the night on Tuesday, I will have to assume that you do not want to receive a gift or are no longer on Tumblr.

For the 16 I heard back from, thank you for replying. I am already working on the fics for the 12 of you that said you would still like gifts. One already got theirs in a DM, which is great! The three that said they didn’t want anything, if you change your mind, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
I am working on the gifts in the order people responded back to me with prompt ideas. If you didn’t send an idea or didn’t have one, that’s fine. Prompts give me a better starting point and don’t require quite as much debating on my part on what to write, so I can get those done faster while coming up with ideas for the others. Instead of posting these as I complete them, though, I have decided to post them all at once when I’m done. I will send a message to each person with a direct link to their piece as well as share them here, so please keep an eye out for that.
I have DM’d each person their individual piece in the series at this time. If you were one of those that received a gift in this set and you have an AO3 handle, please respond back to my DM with your username and I’ll be sure to mark it as a gift for you there.

Are there any participants who haven't received a gift yet who also didn't even send their own yet? If so, you should probably not even bother getting those people a replacement gifter... If they didn't bother contributing yet, I say just forget about them. They don't deserve it.

While I understand the sentiment, it’s also possible that they might not have posted their gift because there was no gift for them. And then it just starts a vicious cycle. I won’t be singling people out that way. I promised all 24 a gift and I will do my best to deliver.

You know what, no. We’re not done yet. I can’t speak for the rest of the mods, but I’m not done yet.
Sadly, there are 24 people that never received gifts, according to our spreadsheet. And that’s unacceptable. I know how much it sucks to participate in an exchange and to either not get anything or to get some half-baked at best at the very end and I’m not gonna let that happen to you guys.
So, here’s the plan. I’m going to reach out to these 24 people if I can. Ask you all if your preferences have changed at all since you last spoke with us or filled out any forms. If I can’t reach you, perhaps because you have asks off or have changed your blog name, I will post something here. I want to do everything I can to reach each and every one of you.
That said, for gift requests, I am a writer only. If you were really wanting fanart or something graphically inclined, please let me know and I’ll see what I can do. And if you happen to be an artist reading this and willing to help out? I will gladly take all the help I can get.
My goal is to have the majority of these taken care of by Mother’s Day (US Mother’s Day is May 12th). And I won’t give anyone anything half-assed either. I seem to thrive writing with a deadline, so let’s see how it treats me this time. If it does happen to take me a little longer, I will be upfront about it. All I ask is your understanding that I am just one person right now. I had signed up as a mod to help handle concerns and questions that came in from you guys. I had thought—hoped—that the others would be able to handle everything else.
For this, I apologize on behalf of everyone. We should have been more organized, more ready for this situation, because at least a couple of us knew how common it can be. For many of the mods, if was our first time modding an exchange and we didn’t know just how much of our time it would need. And, of course, there are plenty of inevitable life circumstances that get in the way of things.
I can’t speak for the others. I don’t know if any of them will mod another exchange. I will say that if I do, if I am given another opportunity, I will do my best to ensure there are failsafes in place. I don’t want anyone to be put through this waiting game again.
