I always look for marsh rabbits when I am out and about in the wetlands because I have a particular interest in their ear notches. Rabbits can get these scars from disputes with other rabbits and they make it pretty easy to identify individuals. So I keep an eye out and sometimes I’m able to recognize a marsh rabbit and track them over several seasons. Here’s a few from my collection to show how the notches normally look

But on my most recent trip I saw something totally new! Behold this interesting looking creature I spied

This marsh rabbit lost his ears entirely! Must have been one hell of a fight but this little guy seems to be doing just fine. I always love finding a true survivor in the wild; what a tough little beast. Can’t get over what a funny unique look he has

I fell down a rabbit hole last night researching this girl and found some photographs of her that are just peak Weird Little Girl (affectionate) energy, so I’m sharing.

Gladys (sometimes spelled Gladyce) Ditmars was born October 16, 1903 in the Bronx.

Her father, Raymond L. Ditmars was, at the time, the assistant reptile curator at the Bronx Zoo, and would later be appointed curator of the entire zoo.

Raymond met his future wife, Clara, when she was visiting the zoo and witnessed Raymond break up a fight between two venomous snakes. She was so impressed she asked to meet him. They were married eight months later. The venue was decorated with snake skins and Clara wore a live gopher snake around her neck during the ceremony.

the best period of doctor who is in the late 90s/early 2000s when it was just a bunch of books written by gay people and none of the higher ups cared enough about the franchise being palatable to a wide audience to stop them from saying dr who was gay

it was also a bunch of radio shows and none of the higher ups cared enough about the franchise being palatable to a wide audience to stop them from frequently making it r rated absurdist horror

Second best period of Doctor Who was the late 80s when the show itself was full of anti-tory satire and the comics featured a talking shape-shifting penguin as one of its main characters and the BBC had long since given up caring.

the talking penguin stars in one of the aforementioned r rated absurdist horror radio shows
