Thoughts and Stuff

@thearendork-blog / thearendork-blog.tumblr.com

I'm from the Philippines and I'm never too old for a lot of stuff. For my fanfiction, fandoms (Frozen, Big Hero 6, ATLA, TLOK, Rurouni Kenshin, and Fire Emblem: Awakening), book reviews, musings, and reblogs that catch my fancy. Currently obsessed with Tadashi and Elsa (as a ship, and as characters--if it isn't obvious from the header, LOL). Icon by birbhero6, header art by comickergirl.

I was excited when I saw Jessika Pava, the Asian X-Wing Rebel pilot in TFA and hope to see her more in action in the next one. So here’s a little fan art of her gesturing Poe to go check on Finn.

Happy birthday, Eartha Kitt! (January 17, 1927 – December 25, 2008)

Eartha voiced Yzma in The Emperor’s New Groove, the straight-to-video sequel Kronk’s New Groove and the spin-off TV series The Emperor’s New School, for which she won 2 Emmy Awards and 2 Annie Awards for Voice Acting in an Animated Television Production.

Rey has a worthy partner in heroism— John Boyega’s Finn, a disaffected Stormtrooper who has blood on his white helmet when first we see him, and wants no more blood on his hands. Finn is black, and an interracial romance that might have seemed daring a decade or so ago now seems smart and exactly right, but that’s only one of many notable things about the character, and the wonderfully buoyant actor who plays him. Finn makes no bones about being a reluctant hero. It isn’t ideology or conviction that first impels him to join the resistance, it’s an urgent impulse to distance himself from the odious army he’s been serving, and, much more than that, an irresistible desire to be desired by Rey. They’re very funny together, these two adventurous kids, in a movie that excels at being funny and exciting in equal measure; at one perilous juncture Han Solo tells them, “Escape now. Hug later.” And they’re endearing together. Whatever comes of their romance in the next episode, they really do bond—with each other and us—in this one.

Friendship, family, interests, conduct, all this is incredibly well shown in several scenes of the film, of course these points turn virtually around Hiro and everything that goes around the boy, especially their connection with family and friends. Even if the young person is the focus, the part that involves Baymax robot also adds even more in all life lessons shown in the film. - Unknown
