Once again an archeologist. Back to our bullshit, baby. And to whom it may concern: Yes, computers are concious beings. Skeletons aren´t . They´re just boney.

I was thinking this morning about season 1 Bobby Nash (with the added context of Bobby Begins again). I was thinking about the fact that he didn't come to LA to start a new life. He came to LA to die. He came to save the life of 148 people and end his own life when he was done. I was thinking about Bobby seeing himself as a superhero, invincible and untouchable, then seeing his failures pile up. The shame that comes with that, how heavy it must be. Bobby turning into a monster, people dying on his watch. He wasn't just a father and a husband, he was a first responder. He swore to protect not just his family, but everybody in the world. The guilt. Bobby losing hope. Giving up. Staying alive just to repay a debt, but ultimately choosing death. If God didn't kill him, he would do it himself. And then his new friends, his new family, punching holes in the armor he's created around himself. Putting hand over hand to pull him out of the hole. Bobby Nash is alive today because his friends loved him back to life.

This is the story that made me fall in love with the show.

So i'm gonna share my speculation about Amir

I do think he'll go after Bobby (the scene in the meeting and then the knife one), but honestly, I understand it. The guy who burned down your life, killed your wife and gave you burns (and probably chronic pain) is appearently alive, got to keep his job and really happy. Acts like he's living his best life and doesn't even recognises you. For Amir, Bobby is the driver, everything is his fault.

But I think Bobby will talk him down when he has the knife to his neck. Amir only has this temporary rage, seeing the cause of his trauma up close. Bobby will share what happened to him and will probably ask for forgiveness. And I think he'll get it. Not absolvation, he and Amir will never be friends or anything, but Amir moves on

this is pretty much my take as well.

Though I would expand on it: While this is going on, Eddie will not be there for the 118. Be distracted, not where he says he is, hanging out with Kim.

So, while Bobby's story here concludes, it kicks off Eddie's going into 7.10.

Bobby is at the end of his journey with addiction, whereas Eddie isn't really aware yet that he actually *is* on a journey. Not that I would call Shannon/Kim an addiction, but his behaviour (Hiding, lying to your loved ones, dereliction of duty, cheating etc.) is all also pretty typical addict behaviour.

how hard is it to say "i wish we didn't have to keep hearing about platonic male relationships, but i respect ryan's perspective and understand why the story has to be this way?" oliver said the same thing in early march to entertainment weekly, remember, so as much as he doesn't mind joking around about buddie these days, he also sees the value in what they've created considering a real life friendship made buddie what it is. "i'm so sick of the push for platonic male relationships" okay, well, the actors involved in your fave ship seem to have a different opinion and there's nothing you can do about it!

"platonic male relationships are often an excuse for homophobic denial of queer relationships" and "it's important to show genuinely intimate and vulnerable platonic male relationships" are two things that can and should coexist

Also can I say that here in the year of our lord 2024, 911, a show on a mainstream network, has TWO main cast queer characters: a lesbian in a happy marriage with her amazing wife and a bi disaster.

also this episode was so beautifully done in showing where each of the character focuses are in their healing, not just their own, but the others around them

hen and karen have gone through the ups and downs of their fostering and adoption journey. we saw them take the news of mara so graciously at the start, and then this episode we see them react emotionally to mara being hurt by someone not showing up for her. their emotions are still strong, the fear of something happening to their babies still wrought no matter what. but it ends with them getting what they had wished so badly for mara, and it shows where they are in their growth and healing

maddie gets a domestic violence call that ends happily. but in between that, we saw the parts of maddie that we were once worried about with her: getting obsessed over calls and borderline gaslighting herself for not being enough. but this time, she doesn't do it alone. she leans into her support system, on her husband (!!!) who understands her enough to take her out of her spiral. she leans into athena and the support she provides throughout the whole journey

eddie is in a good place after season 5/6. he is smiling, happy and carefree, but we know that he struggles with shannon. the memory of her forever embedded in his mind and heart. he's forever trying to fill a whole in his heart that is shaped by shannon and the love she leaves behind, and for a moment we think he's okay. making steps and recognizing where he's going wrong with marisol. and then he meets kim, and she's a bright, beautiful reflection of his dead wife, and we're hit with just how much he truly hasn't healed

and finally bobby. we don't see much of bobby here, but we know amir is there. and amir is from that apartment fire that will always be a part of bobby. and like eddie, he hasn't grappled with the loss of his family. we knew that from the start. his family with athena does not fill the void that that marcy and his children left behind when they died. and him surviving, thriving, living his life on the other side of the country doesn't change the fact that people had died in that fire, or have been hurt and marked by that fire. and sometimes, healing means grappling with it head on, and while bobby doesn't know at the moment that a ghost from his past has just made an appearance, it'll only be a matter of time until amir makes himself known

I think it would be pretty interesting if the Buckleys weren’t homophobic. Maybe they were just surprised (or they thought he was with Eddie)

But wouldn’t it be tragic if Maddie was right? I can’t quote her directly but she said something like ‘my parents aren’t bad people. They’re just bad parents’ ? I know we all consider that to be something that makes you a bad person but What if that’s the tragedy of it all?

What if had the Buckley parents given Buck the chance then they could have been good parents. Great parents even. To Maddie and Buck. What if they would have accepted him no matter what, had Daniel survived.

What if Bucks coma dream was wrong and they did notice how abusive Doug was. What if Maddie, as much as I love who she is now, was a different person bc she didn’t have to give up part of her childhood. What if Buck could discovered himself earlier bc he wasn’t out there alone but instead grew up in a safe accepting home where he didn’t feel like a big mistake.

I think the only thing worse than them being terrible people is if they could have been the perfect parents had they not gotten so wrapped up in their own grief that they forgot how to be parents.

I know how much you love your son. That's why I know you are gonna do what is right for him. Don't drag him down with you, Eddie.

The blatant and constant exclusion of Henrietta Wilson not only as a queer character but as a main character in articles following up on Buck’s coming out is disgusting. She has been a proud lesbian since the very first episode, serving as authentic rep on the show. It’s striking that the media’s interest seems to have peaked only with the revelation of a masculine, white character as LGBTQA+ (who they consistently mislabel as gay instead of bisexual, going against the actor’s own words and the network’s public statements). It is telling, but alas, not utterly surprising, considering sometimes they don’t even bother to learn Aisha’s name. It is a disappointing act of erasure that contradicts the show’s message of inclusivity and undermines the very essence of its commitment to representing a wide spectrum of experiences.

“Settling for bucktommy is like going to a restaurant and ordering a steak and being happy they brought you a cheeseburger”

idk, it’s more like I’m on a plane that says they’re serving lasagna on board and because I like pasta I pay for the meal option, even though I’ve flown enough times to know there’s no guarantee I’ll be given what I asked for, and tbh the last time an airline did try and serve me lasagna it was inedible anyway.

So I go to the airport fully prepared to make do with the food I brought from home, which is fine, I’ve been around the block and know how to make a sandwich. Then 2 hours in, the flight attendant announces they’re about to serve carbonara, and at first I’m suspicious because I didn’t think that was an option and honestly that seems even harder to cook on a plane.

Then by some miracle not only am I served carbonara, it’s delicious and by the time I’ve finished I’m so full I don’t really care if this is a replacement for the lasagna or if they’re bringing that out later. Either way I’ve eaten 100% more pasta than I was expecting to, and this is by far the most positive experience I’ve had on a plane in years.
