I didn’t write about it in the headcanons, but this will be the same for everyone: the death is sudden and was a result of an accident. I mean that there was no way to predict it or prepare for it. ~~It makes it more dramatic.~~

And also, once more, I didn’t include Jaehee here. If someone actually wants to read about her too, send in a request and I’ll do it.

And start requesting Vanderwood dammit.

At first, he just can’t believe it. He’s a mess, yelling at everyone to let him see you. Rushing past doctors and completely ignoring the RFA if they’re here as well - he wants to see you no matter what, because he’s still ensured that it’s all only a cruel joke.
Once he sees you, he’s stunned for a few painfully long minutes. He comes closer to you and gently brushes your blood-stained hair and touches your face. With quivering voice, he starts to talk to you, as if you were only sleeping… It’s obvious that he’s crying as he’s trembling and sobbing all the time.
Once he gets home, the first thing he does is to take out the cigarettes and all the beer he has left. He’s sitting on a couch, painfully silent. He doesn’t pick his phone when RFA members call. When someone (probably Jumin) decides to visit him, he’s all quiet and just lets him in. He goes back to the couch and drinks as much as he’s able to, not saying a single word, till he eventually passes out from the alcohol, after accidentally burning himself a few times with the cigarettes as he can’t feel anything anymore.
The next few months are the worst time for him. He’s giving up on his work and stays at home, ruining his health with alcohol and cigarettes. No one hears from him. Jaehee visits him as often as she can to ensure he at least eats something. But he’s completely empty inside, does only as much as she’s able to force on him.
At some point he learns that he needs to move on. He’ll never be the same, but he needs to carry on living. The mourning is over. He often thinks of you and speaks to you in his thoughts, even years after, as he acts almost like before, still carrying you in deep his heart.

◄ Jumin ►

As soon as he hears the news, he’s in shock. He’s so pale that he looks as if he’s about to faint, the doctor tells him to sit down. But he doesn’t listen and ignores everything others are trying to say. He looks calm… way too calm. He quietly asks the doctor to lead him to your body.
Once he goes inside the room, he closes the door and no one can walk in. He silently stands next to you, a bit afraid to touch you, as if your body could fall apart every second. Once he decides to gently touch your hand, his eyes water up. He sits in a chair and holds your hand in his both, sheding silent tears for a long, long time, unable to move from the spot.
For a few hours RFA members don’t let anyone disturb him, but eventually he has to go out. He quietly asks if he can take you with him now and it sounds surprisingly serious, even if everyone knows it’s impossible.
He’ll do everything he’s able to to have your body buried in the family grave and spend all the time he can as close to you as possible. He’ll spend hours in the church where the coffin waits for the funeral, and soon after, every single day he’ll spend at the graveyard, refusing to go home even when Jaehee calls him.
He loses his confidence and lets Jaehee and his father take over the business. He closes himself in his own world, either starting pointless projects that remind him of you or being too withdrawn to do a single task on his own. He failes at everything.
He can never forget you. He’s still attached to you and it will never change. You were the only reason for him to live and so he’ll never be able to live again.

◄ Yoosung ►

He doesn’t believe. He refuses to go and see you, because he’s still stubbornly stating that you’re alive. He didn’t feel anything when you died… since he couldn’t know about this… so how can it be real now, when people just say it to him? It cannot be real. It’s a lie…
Once RFA convience him to go and see you, he’s trembling. His legs are quivering so much that he can hardly move. But when he finally sees you, he breaks down. He starts to scream and cry, still unable to believe it. He holds you close to himself, refusing to let go.
As others make him eventually go home, he keeps crying and trembling for a long time. Luciel goes with him so that he doesn’t have to stay alone, but Yoosung is completely wrecked at this point. He sits on a couch and just cries. He complies Luciel when he makes him eat something, then goes to his bed as he’s said, but for a very long time he can’t fall asleep. He only sobs quietly, curled into a ball.
He doesn’t even pretend to be fine. He can’t put it all together and Luciel makes him move to his place so that he doesn’t stay alone. He keeps overthinking himself and it’s devastating. He’s inattentive and tends to hurt himself a lot by accident. He doesn’t care though, that’s why Luciel has to watch over him all the time…
Months later, he slowly starts to go back to his life. He’s more and more open and cheerful, but every time sometimes mentions your name, he feels like crying again… It’ll never change, you’ll always be in his heart. But he knows you wouldn’t want him to be sad so he does his best to make you proud of him.

◄Seven ►

As soon as the news comes, he’s just stunned. His face is so pale that the doctor tells him to sit down, but he doesn’t listen. Without a single word, he rushes past everyone, to the room you should be in. He goes inside quietly and then his heart nearly stops.
He’s not sure whether he should come closer or not. He does though, feeling his heart clenching in his chest, more and more painfully with every passing second. He’s unable to speak as he reaches carefully to touch your motionless face. The moment he touches your still warm skin, everything inside him just collapses. He wraps arms around your body and cries quietly into your chest, not caring at all about all the blood you’re covered with. His sobs are almost silent, his body is trembling, but there’s no sound coming out of the room. He’s mourning in silence.
RFA members tell him to go home, but as soon as he gets into his car, they notice how dangerous it may be for him to drive now. He refuses to let them take him and drives away before they can stop him. He doesn’t go home though, just drives out the city at the car’s full speed. It doesn’t take him long to get into accident, not as serious as he’d want it to be. Vanderwood takes him home as soon as the doctors tells him that he’s fine.
For the next months - or even years - Saeyoung separates himself from the world. He completely ditches his work and doesn’t come to RFA chat almost at all. He’s quietly refusing all the help other members offer to him. Vanderwood is surprisingly understanding towards him and tries to help him as much as he can, it makes Luciel snappy though, as he often yells at Vanderwood to just leave him alone. He’s snappy towards his boss too, secretly hoping to upset him so that he punishes him in the most painful way he can. There - once more - Vanderwood does his best to save him from the boss’ rage.
The person who can get to him in those moments is Saeran and no one else. If anyone has enough power to help him out of depression, it’s him. Depending on the situation though, he can manage or not - and it’s very likely for Luciel to destroy himself at some point.

◄ Saeran ►

His first reaction is to yell at everyone around. He rushes to the room, hurting and destroying everything and everyone in his way. If anyone tries to stop him, he’s like an apocalypse. There’s no use talking to him, seeing you is his only purpose right now.
He trips over the doorstep, stumbling into the room and falling to his knees as soon as he notices your motionless body laying in the centre. He screams out loudly, the whole hospital can hear him. When the doctor comes in to calm him down, Saeran takes the nearest thing and throws at him, unable to control himself. The doctor runs away and everyone at this point is too scared to walk in. The one who decides to do it after a long time is Saeyoung. He lays his hand on his brother’s shoulder, saying quietly that they should go home now. Saeran is calm now, withdrawn from emotions and just staring at your body, unable to even cry anymore.
He’s unusually quiet, once a while he snaps though and starts to scream or break things. He hurts himself and people around, even Saeyoung, who patiently stays by his side all the time, not saying much, just being here in case Saeran tries to do something stupid… He just gives him space, at the same time watching over him, not wanting him to be alone at the time like this.
For a long time, he’s switching between desperate and furious. He feels left and betrayed (again), at the same time unable to blame you for what happened. It results in him blaming himself for not being able to protect you, even if everyone keeps saying that it’s not his fault at all. His mental state has never been so bad, he seriously hurts himself every time he catches the chance, as if trying to punish himself. He’s trapped by it.
There’s no happy ending for him. You were the one and only he fully trusted and loved, you haven’t ever betrayed him. He believed in you just like he used to believe in Saeyoung. In the end though, he realized you wouldn’t ever come back to him and he doesn’t want to feel like this ever again. He doesn’t want to be a problem to his brother too, so he just stays home all the time. He won’t try to hurt himself anymore, but only because he doesn’t want to bother his brother with this all. It hurts Saeyoung so much to see him like this, but there’s nothing he can do either.
There’s a chance Saeran will eventually understand that you wouldn’t want him to be like this. He realizes he has only two choices: either to end it all or try to carry on living. And when he carries on, every single day will he spend on trying to make you happy as he believes you can see him from up there. He’ll try to help RFA and do a lot of volunteer work. He wants to become better so that, when the time comes, he can go to Heaven and see you, as you’re surely in Heaven as well.

I made an orchestra arrangement of this opening since I love it so much~ For Flute, 2 Violins, Viola, and Cello.

It’s currently a software instrumentation, but hopefully my friends and I can perform this as well as a few other anime songs at a convention this year.
