I queued this like 8 months ago I’ve waited a long time for this moment

This is a turning point in her career and that’s silly to say for someone on their 8th album but I can FEEL it. The sophistication in the songwriting. The storytelling. The soft poeticism. The way the lyrics drift so perfectly over the melodies. No one who listens to this can exit this album without saying she is the songwriter of this generation and knowing how important her writing ability is to her, that is so important.

taylor has quite literally NEVER done anything like this before and i think it just proves that she’s making music to make music, not for anyone’s approval, not for ratings, not for the recognition, she’s just like “here i’m proud of this, take it” AND I’M HERE FOR IT

she’s essentially written individual pieces of literature based on different stories that when put out together form this beautiful, heartbreaking, sad, lovely, intricate work of art. i’m in love.
