"Ilya, are you sure we should keep him?" Boris said, glancing at the massive Max in the close-by alcove. The young newcomer was playing with the kids, showcasing his massive biceps. Even in his days of bodybuilding, Boris had never seen an arm that big: fully flexed, it easily swelled to twice the size of his head. And he knew these weren't just for show: he had seen him grab a 200 pounds guy as if he weighed nothing.
“Yeah, man, I told you, he is a boon for us!” Boris was not convinced; he looked worried, afraid of the larger-than-life guy. “I told you, he showed me, he can grow at will! As big as he wants!” His friend added, baffled by the fact Boris was not ceding. He was still gazing at the group of children and the giant having fun, the boys poking his dense muscles, trying to dent them - they were unsuccessful.
He hadn't seen him grow; only Ilya had. But seeing that he was healthy at 8'3", with the frame of a bodybuilder, was enough to convince him he was telling the truth. That wasn't what was holding him back... It was a deeper worry, something he couldn't explain. He felt this whole thing could go wrong really quickly.
“They tried shooting him previously, and it just bounced off his abs! I tell you, this man is something else!” His friend was in complete unabashed worship of Max, ready to cede to every of his requests. “Fine,” finally said Boris, as Ilya's face lighted up. “We provide him with a place to crash and some food. That's it for now until he proves we can trust him." His friend agreed, “oh, I bet you he will.”
