I find it interesting that if you take many m/m fics that have the canon relationships that are teasing and what not (ex: merthur) and make them m/f, the treatment of the female seems really bad. It kind of makes me wonder why if it’s two men that we feel like it’s okay but if it was a man and woman, we’d call it out as toxic

I have the gist of each “section” planned out. So, how I usually write is I know the premise. I get an idea for how the arc is going to play out. Meaning, I know whats going to be happening in each act, a general idea of what’ll happen for the scenes within it, and even some details I want to include for specific points within scenes (like a detail I want to include for a very specific beat within a scene). Then how everything gets together is up in the air and happens while I write it
