His entire life Greg Lestrade has had the ability to help people find their perfect matches, whether they will be platonic or romantic partners. It's a gift that has been passed down in his family for generations.
The one thing his gift isn't useful for is helping Greg find his own perfect match.
He thought he was happy, and that his life was going as well as he could hope for. That he should be satisfied with what he had.
Then he met the Holmes brothers, and well... everything changed.

*Warning*: there is a memory in there from when Mycroft was at school, which has highly dubious consent. It's not explicit, but don't read if that makes you uncomfortable.
In my head, the story has played out much further by now. If you enjoy it and would like to read more, let me know and I'll let you in further on the debauchery these guys get up to in my brain.

Greg and Mycroft have been seeing each other (neither of them calls it dating) for several months when Greg asks Mycroft on a date on Wednesday. Not ‘Valentine’s Day,’ even though it is, because Greg doesn’t want to spook Mycroft by appearing overly sentimental or romantic. Mycroft spooks anyway.

Mycroft is not upset. There’s nothing to be upset about, really. So what if Inspector Lestrade has an actual date on Valentine’s Day? It’s not like he has any real claim on the man. And yet...

Or five times Greg failed at dating and one time he really, really didn't.
With another lonely Valentine's Day looming, Greg Lestrade decides it’s time to get back in the dating game. Quick reminder. <3
Hi guys! We’re about halfway through the calendar at this stage. Just a quick reminder for our upcoming fic writers.
It’d be helpful for me if everyone could:
(1) make sure you post on the date you confirmed with me. We’ve had several people forget now, or post on other dates without giving me a heads up. Luckily I’ve been able to scramble together other content so far, but it’s much easier for me if you keep to the date you okayed.
(2) tell me when you’ve posted to AO3. A quick message to @mottlemoth (ideally with the link) is all I need. If you don’t tell me, I won’t know it’s ready. This means your calendar post gets delayed. And if you’ve also uploaded your story outside of the collection, I won’t have any clue it’s on AO3 at all - it just looks like you’ve forgotten. So please do give me a wave.
Thanks everyone for getting involved. I hope you’ve all enjoyed the calendar so far, and there’s plenty more gorgeous fiction and art to come. <3
