A few captures from the third episode of A Condition Called Love. An interesting turn from our cliffhangers takes us to Christmas Eve and a date that seemingly is the end of our pairing's trial run. From the shock of Hotaru's family that she appears to have a boyfriend, to the unique outing that Saki has planned, it's a nice experience end to end with a little bit more bonding forming between the two. The trial isn't over, but it also isn't certain they're a couple, but there's certainly movement in the right direction here. Feels like it'll be really satisfying if or when Hotaru finally breaks through her resistance.

A few captures from the third episode of Laid Back Camp S3. Sometimes it's not the camping itself but the journey getting there that's filled with fun moments. Whether it's driving for kilometers, seeing animals, taking in different foods, or just enjoying it with someone else, there's always an opportunity to enjoy yourself. Sounds like the final part of the drive might be an ordeal for Rin and Ayano looking at the title of the next episode.

A few captures from the third episode of Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf. It was interesting to learn a few more of Holo's abilities, who'd imagine a wolf would be mischievous? Feels like our traveling merchant might be in for a lot with this girl, though she might be helpful if she can manage to better some trades as long as they don't get in trouble. This currency plot line may be interesting to follow, and whether it takes our duo unexpected places.

The second episode of Jellyfish Can't Swim In The Night was an interesting way to go about introducing another character. Kano and Mahiru begin to go through a schedule about how to form JELEE and the things they need to find add up, especially money. As luck would have it, there's someone who can help out, Kimura! Appearing out of nowhere, it turns out she's a rabid fan of Kano from her idol days, and is desperate to help her return to her former glory, though the problem becomes that isn't what Kano wants. This creates a bit of a rift that gets explored through the episode, giving us backstory to why Kimura things so highly of Kano, as well as a nice resolution in the end. It's a frantic, but fun, way to bring another girl into the fold. Question now is how does the final girl appear?

One silly aside to Jellyfish Can't Swim In The Night so far is the sheer amount of expressiveness in this show. Sometimes they go for visual tricks, like those eyes and mouth popping off the face, but otherwise it's just such a strong expression that you can't ignore. Unamused, surprise, horror at being found out, possibly something perverse, something happy, or just being goofy, it call came through so clearly here. It's fun when a show plays with that so openly.

A few captures from the second episode of Bartender Glass of God. Our episode brings two challenging customers, one an older man who doesn't take a liking to Ryu's initial offerings, the other a woman with an attitude that's hard to ignore. As one might expect from a brilliant bartender, resolutions do come, but it's a curious route to get there. This is slow so far, curious if things pick up in some meaningful way.

A few captures of Holo from the second episode of Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets The Wise Wolf. There isn't a lot to say about this show so far, the initial world building and details we're learning about each of the characters most of what's happened. On the surface this strange goddess seems like a playful character but is she?

A few captures from the first episode of A Condition Called Love. At first blush, I'm not sure about this one for one reason - it kicks off as falling in love over one kind gesture. Our main character, Hotaru, happens to find our male interest, Saki, in a park, sitting out as the snow falls down on him. She approaches and leans the umbrella over him, saying "U-Um, you'll catch a cold like this." and that's where things begin. That one act, that all it takes to get his interest, which turns into him asking her out the following day. In the span of the first episode it seems that Hotaru gets convinced that perhaps she needs to experience romance and give him a chance, but this all feels odd. The guy version of this annoys me, and flipping the genders doesn't change that? Gonna give it a chance with a few more episodes.
