::Beautifully Broken::

Yeah she’d rather be home, but if the school was like this, did she really have room to complain. “Well I can tell I made the right choice coming here then.” Not like it was her choice.

“Well, I’m glad you did” she assured the girl. “So what do you feel like doing?” she offered wondering if the girl felt like hanging out and doing something.

“Thank you”.She said holding her hand she got up. She stretch her hand making her feel better after laying down on the hard floor.  “I did hear the river is very beauful and relaxing.”

“No problem” she said as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. “I love going down there and sketching or just to read. But there’s something about going to a different part of a city that you’re not used to and getting lost for a few”

“I heard they went to Paris last year, how was that?” She said impressed with that fact about the school, that they would take all the students someplace for a trip. No wonder the price to attend here was what it was, they went above and beyond for the students.

“It was a lot of fun. I didn’t feel restricted on going and sight seeing or anything. I mean a lot of us would go in groups but other than that it was pretty amazing” she said smiling remember the trip. “My old school never would have done anything like this, so I think it’s cool we’ll make memories with classmates rather you like them or not” she laughed

“Sweet?” She didn’t find it sweet, she just needed to keep her hands busy. “I think I gave the wrong vibe, but hey I’ll take it.”

“Well, not many people would want to do that even if they weren’t meaning to be sweet or nice” she laughed fixing the strap on her purse that was slipping off of her shoulder. “I hope that where ever they decide to take us for the summer trip that it’s nice, relaxing and fun”

“No…that doesn’t sound like me, I don’t really look for the special in things, if I could, I would go to a little town and see where they need help. Like work on a farm, help an old lady in a shop, but just taking pictures of things isn’t my speed.” She said giving her unpopular opinion.

“That’s really sweet of you. I have no doubt there’s somewhere, where they can use your help.”

“Well can you just-” he said waving his hand to the left, so she’d move just a little bit away from it. “DId you at least catch the football?”

“No, I’m not going to touch your car. I was raised around nice cars like these and I never bothered them. Don’t worry” she assured him not willing to be bossed around. She wasn’t standing close enough to touch his car so she didn’t see the big deal. Grabbing her keys out of her purse she started her car letting it cool off in there before getting in. “No unfortunately I was hit with it while walking to my car” she said pointing at her new benz. “I think I might have thrown the ball back better then them though”

After a long day, Wyatt was looking forward to picking up his daughter from his parents’ house and then going back to his apartment to just relax. Except, his car failed to start. “No, no…” He turned his key in the ignition again, wincing as his engine sputtered out and died again. “Fuck.” He hit the steering wheel before bringing his hand to his head. Of course, of course. “I can’t believe this.”

Kyla heard Mr. Cross and didn’t know if she should offer him help but decided she would see if he needed help. “Hey, do you need me to call someone or.. a ride somewhere?” she offered.

“I have a lot of free time, wonder what I should do?” She asked herself while laying down somewhere on the floor around campus. 

“You could go to the river, that’s a beautiful place to sit by.. Or go find something interesting downtown” she offered the girl looking down at her smiling. “That looks so uncomfortable” she said offering her a hand.

The school year had officially ended and Devyn was free to spend her days doing whatever she wanted. And, right now, that meant sitting outside and working on her tan - something that had seriously faded during the school year. Out of nowhere, a shadow was casted over her and she looked up to see somebody standing in front of her. “You know you make a better door than a window, right?”

Kyla stopped to check her phone cause it was going off and was squinting to try to read the messages. Looking over her shoulder seeing Devyn there tanning she smiled “I’m sorry, Devyn. You’re right I am a better door” she said laughing stepping out of the way. “You ready for a fun summer?”

“Don’t touch the car,” He knew it was nice, but his policy was look don’t touch. His mother just got it for him. “And yes it’s mine,” He said bragging.

Kyla was walking towards her benz when she got hit with a football and glared at the boys that were throwing it but threw it back at them laughing while shaking her head. Jumping when she heard someone speak “I wasn’t going no where near your car, but I just blocked a football from hitting it” she joked shrugging her shoulders.

“So turns out I actually can’t go back to England for the summer, so I’m stuck here. I guess it’s not so bad, Boston is pretty, but what exactly is there here to do?”

“Oh that sucks“ Kyla pouted at Eliza. “Hmm that depends on what you like to do. I like to go for drives to find little towns with my camera and just find something special or weird about it”
