Unlikely Alliances - Shin Hati X Sabine Wren

(CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE AHSOKA SHOW!)

“In the years since Ezra's disappearance, Sabine had learnt how to move on...or she'd tried. That was until, someone else...caught her eye. Someone who would change her life in ways she hadn't quite been expecting.”

Cal and Merrin or Thrawn and Morgan?

If I had to pick between those two, DEFINITELY Cal and Merrin. Merrical has such a special place in my heart. The Jedi series of games got me back into Star Wars after being distant from it for so long and it was partially due to Merrin and Cal.

They’re so special to me because of the way I associate them with my own relationship and in the way I rediscovered a love of writing just to dedicate works to them.

Not to mention my girlfriend and I cosplayed them—and every second of it was so much fun! We actually decided to go as them around two weeks before the convention, but in the end I’ll say we did a pretty great job at it!! 😎

Here I am as Cal and there @thenachlegacy is as Merrin 💕💕💕

I’m infamous for doing things in my sleep. I’ve talked in my sleep. Sat up in my sleep. Tried to kiss my girlfriend in my sleep.

Last night I looked up “Baldur’s Gate 3 Astarion romance cutscene” and I have no memory of this. I simply opened my phone to this google search.

I think my favorite is the way this one is highlighted. Meaning I CLICKED ON IT.

I have no memory of any of this. None at all.

Thinking thoughts about Jynessa and Dagan Gera…

Thinking about Jynessa running her fingers through his hair as he lays in her lap, venting about all the struggles of the day as she listens with nothing but support and empathy for him. She braids his hair and nods, making sure he feels heard understood.

Thinking about the way Jynessa’s own brother Jaster was never a fan of Dagan, especially with all of this insane talk of Tanalorr fueling him 24/7, but the way he saw his sister’s eyes light up whenever he was around made him realize how happy she was just to know such a man… even if he was questionable, delusional at times, even…

Thinking about the abrupt end for the two as their time together came to a halt when Dagan was put into a tank of bacta to be held preserved until found once more… and the way Jynessa would never get to express anything truer than simple gestures… she wouldn’t get more than just stolen kisses in halls, sparse nights spent beside him when the times were right, soft and silent moments when he had the time… they would never get to express a truer love that despite everything, was forming.

They would be separated by fate and by force, only to pray someday they would reunite across the bounds of time…

Okay so, I’m gonna write s2, where Shin or Sabine ends up injured and the other one finds them and ends up helping them for some reason they “can’t explain”, and they’re by firelight one night and they kiss and-

Literally am such a pansy for hurt/comfort lesbos <3

Listening to moon song while writing this btw

This is so much longer than it needed to be so I might write a part 2 🤭

I just feel you

“…fuck!” Her eyes are wide, glaring out into the thick woods that surround her. She can barely make anything out in the darkness. She keeps walking, a hand held over her abdomen. Reaching out to grab the stump of a nearby tree, Shin winces, throwing her head back. She furrows her brows in order to hold burning tears back. She lets out a growl through clenched teeth, bringing her head back down to look at her hand, covered in blood. She knows she is losing too much to make it to camp, but keeps walking anyways. Probably out of pure spite.

The fire is alive more than usual tonight, Sabine notices, which brings wider smiles to her and her masters faces. They sit around a fire, along with a few Noti, laughing and telling stories to their best extent due to their language barrier. Sabine watches her masters face, not adding anything to the stories, but just smiling as Ahsoka goes on about her past. It’s a special thing for Ahsoka to reminisce in a relaxed, positive way. Sabines thoughts linger as she’s spectating, and she slowly brings her gaze towards the fire. She feels something deep in her body and mind, similar to the day Ezra and Thrawn made their escape. She feels — senses — a shadow within the light.

“What does it mean?”

Ahsoka looks over to Sabine, her smile fading just a little bit. She tilts her head, “what does what mean?” Ahsoka can sense a disturbance within Sabine. Sabine meets her eyes, and with a quick smile she stands. “Nothing. I need to take a walk.” She brings her hands up and slaps them against her thighs. As she walks away, Ahsoka lowers her head, figuring it was time to rest anyways.

Shin has given up on walking. She feels her body becoming lighter, weaker. She now rests against a tree, her eyes focused on a creature atop a branch. It is a bird-like creature. A beautiful creature, Shin thinks. She closes her eyes, feeling the force on her back, in the tree. Under her, within the grass. In front of her, the bird. It is a welcoming feeling as she slips into a sleep that she may not ever awake from.

She takes a deep breath in, but a sob escapes her throat. Her tears can no longer be held back by anger and frustration. She takes it for what it is; fear of dying, sadness from Baylan. She sits there, bleeding out, and cries for a life she is leaving behind.

Sabine has her lightsaber held slightly above her head as she traverses the thick woods. The moon is barely giving any light to the ground, but the green emitting from her saber does well enough to keep her aware of her surroundings. She doesn’t know where she is going, just that something is out there, calling to her. She figures it’s the force, as she has come to realize that this planet is humming with it. It is stronger here than it is anywhere she’s been before. It is comforting, she thinks, but also frustrating; she wants to understand why, and why she feels so drawn to something on this planet. She can almost feel it, the force, but it always a click away from her fingertips.

Sabines head lifts so her eyes meet it. A creature in the branches. She can see it so clearly in the dark woods. Her heart picks up pace and a kind of hum courses through her. She tip toes towards the creature, keeping both of her hands out as if showing she means no harm. Her saber is still ignited, but only for its light. Sabine blinks and the creature is gone, flapping its wings, flying deeper into the forest. “Shit,” Sabine says quickly, running after the creature. She puts all of her effort into keeping upright; the forest is getting thicker with roots and rocks, making it more difficult to traverse.

She follows the creature for a few minutes, but the forest seems to have taken itself as superior as Sabine catches her foot on a root and is immediately sent to the ground. Her lightsaber is retracted and she rolls a few times before coming to a stop. Her face is in the grass beneath her. She lifts her head up, defeated, and slowly gets herself up. She brushes her clothes off and finds her saber in a pile of leaves next to her. “Why?” She calls out, almost yelling. Sabine bursts out in laughter. “Why am I chasing after a bird?” She runs her hands over her temples and eyes, sighing. She turns a few times, trying to take in her surroundings. Now she is lost.

Sabine starts walking in one direction, presumably the right one, but something catches her eye. Metal glints in the moonlight. She raises a brow, now cautious. She raises her saber, igniting it, but now it is not only for light. As she gets closer, her heart drops as she sees a girl laying against a tree, white hair and eyes closed. “Shin,” she starts into a sprint to get to the girl.

Sabine drops to the ground, grasping at the girls hands. They cover a wound, a serious one, Sabine realizes. “No, no… you’re bleeding out. Shin? Shin,” her words start strong, but lower to a whisper as she calls out the girls name. She grabs at a corner of her shawl, ripping a strip from it. She pulls Shin gently away from the tree, wrapping the strip of cloth around her torso. At the ends of the strip, she lifts Shins shirt to stuff the cloth into the open wound. Sabine winces as she feels blood cover her hands. “Come on, I’ve got you.” She reaches under the girl, lifting her. Holding her bridal style, Sabine looks around, desperate for a way back to camp.

Sabine closes her eyes, desperation laced in her face and voice. “Help me,” she almost whimpers. Tears threaten her eyes as they’re closed, and her throat holds a weight she can’t quite keep up. “Help me!” She yells this time. She opens her eyes and sees the creature once more, now on the ground. It blinks at her, then takes off in one direction.

“Ahsoka!” The togruta raises out of her bed quickly, making her way towards the door of the ship. She stumbles out, not quite shaking the feeling of a deep sleep. Her eyes take a minute to adjust, but when they do, her mind is clear and she is running towards her padawan. “Sabine..!” Ahsoka reaches out to Shin while keeping eye contact with Sabine. She takes Shin from her arms, bringing her up the ramp and onto the ship.

“What happened?” Ahsoka rips the blouse enough to reveal the wound, and Sabine turns away, placing the back of her hand on her mouth. “I don’t know! I was just in the woods following…” Sabine trails off. “I found her like this in the forest.” Ahsoka watches Sabines face with a raised brow. “Can you help her?” Sabine says, worry laced into her words. Ahsoka turns to look at Shin, rubbing her hand over her head. Ahsoka nods, turns around, and runs to grab Huyang. Sabine steps forward to be closer to Shin, holding one hand over the girls abdomen, and the other over her cheek. Sabine traces her eyes over the entirety of Shin, not before able to look at the girl like this. In this state, vulnerable and unconscious, Sabine sees just how pretty she is.

“How are you here?” She whispers.

As her adrenaline bleeds from her, however, she can finally feel the force connecting her to Shin. It is almost at a crescendo, about to erupt from every orifice in her body. She moves her hands away from the girl, turning away. She turns into Huyang, who has brought supplies to fix the girl. Sabine moves him to the side and walks out of the room, fingertips making contact with her lips. Ahsoka looks at her worriedly.

Ahsoka leans in the doorframe of Sabines room, her arms crossed. She cannot see Sabine, but can sense that she is awake and disturbed.

“She’s alive. Huyang says she will live.” Ahsoka breaks the silence. She hears no response from Sabine. Ahsoka sighs and moves into the room, peaking over at Sabine in her bed. As Ahsoka predicted, she lays there with her eyes wide open, surveying the ceiling.

“I can feel her. I feel it more than I’ve felt anything.” Sabine says after a quick minute of silence. Ahsoka slowly nods. “It is the force, padawan. It’s strong within Shin.” “No, this is different. Shadow in the starlight…” Sabine trails off. She rubs her eyes with both hands and turns over, obviously done with the conversation.

It is nighttime now, and Sabine still lies awake. She cannot shake the feeling taking over her body. She decides to get up and pace her room before giving into her urge to see Shin.

She enters the medical room, cautiously surveying her surroundings. She sees Shin, covered up now, with her head turned away from Sabine. Sabine swallows down what she could feel was the start of tears. She reaches her hand out and runs her hand over the girls abdomen. “How did this happen,” not entirely asking, but wondering. Sabine can feel the peaceful breathing of Shin, and falls into a similar pattern. Before long, however, it is interrupted by the hands of Shin, grabbing at anything she can. She is breathing heavily and her eyes are wide. Sabine moves both hands to Shins shoulders, shushing her. “It’s okay! It’s okay, you’re okay!”

“—you’re okay!” Shin glares daggers into Sabines pitying eyes. She has stilled herself and remains upright on her elbows. “Why did you help me?” Shin says through clenched teeth after a long silence. Tears fall from her eyes, but she keeps them locked on Sabine. Sabine now has her hands slightly raised, taking time to find the right thing to say. “I was drawn to you, I don’t know. I felt you,” Sabine dips into those last words. Shin flinches at the pure emotion of Sabines words.

Shin looks down at her abdomen, raising the blanket. She has just a tank top on now, but its raised above the wound to where she can see it. She lowers the blanket and falls back into the bed, too weak to try to flee.

“I was betrayed by the people I’ve been taking shelter with,” Sabine flinches at the sudden break of silence. She looks at Shin, who is staring at the ceiling. “I’m sorry.” Sabine says. Shin scoffs, “I don’t need your pity.” She says. Sabine now notices the slight accent in Shins words. She likes it. “I was actually trying to find you.” Shin says while meeting Sabines eyes. Sabine bites her lip, and without thinking she grabs one of the girls’ hands. “Well I’m glad I found you,” Sabine smiles warmly. Shins eyebrows shudder and she smiles too, still gazing into Sabines eyes.

Shin turns her head away and looks at the wall next to her. Sabine releases her grasp on Shins hands and starts to walk away. Shin bites her lip as she begins to cry. “Can you stay?” The words are so light and vulnerable Sabine almost didn’t hear them. She stops in her tracks, heart pounding. She turns around and looks at the sad girl. “Of course.”

In the morning, Ahsoka makes her way to Sabines room. She is curious when she doesn’t find her there. Maybe she’s begun training early, Ahsoka thinks, but almost laughs at herself. She walks toward the ship exit when she sees the open medical room door. She inhales deeply and walks into the room, not expecting to find Sabine and Shin sharing the same bed. Shin is taking up as little space as possible; she lays on her side, almost in a fetal position, facing the wall. Sabine, however, has one arm over Shins waist, but the rest of her limbs are all over the place. They are both peacefully and soundly asleep. Ahsoka decides to back out of the room, closing the door quietly, with a big grin on her face.

OP THIS IS MAGICAL??? THIS IS FANTASTIC. IF YOU DO PART 2 I WILL BE READING 👀

You still can ship sabinezra, you can be a multishipper you know. also the option of ot3.

Yeah :) I just personally don’t ship it anymore bc of the “you’re like a sister” line, though I have nothing against shippers ever 🫶🏻 but Sabine and Ezra shippers are more than welcome here bc multi shippers are in fact a thing, and my only account requirement is that everyone be respectful 😘

Same thing with my account, my account is a safe space for multishippers!! 🥰
