In the dim light of the gloomy room, her sharp blade was glistening, spilling a fair amount of drops of blood on the floor. Along with the room’s current bloody decoration, the remains of the corpses she left here and there were now covering every single corner of it. With a subtly victorious hint of a smirk painted on her lips, Selyse leaned over the dark-haired man, whom she used to adore with every beat of her heart. Whilst awaiting with anticipation for him to wake up, her mind was tossing around ideas on how she could end his worthless life. She had been dreaming about this moment for years. But none of those figments of her imagination could be compared to the rush she felt during that moment. The time for her unsatisfied vengeance had finally come. All of a sudden, her thoughts were interrupted by the low sound of his steady breath. Minute by minute, the scumbag was gaining his consciousness. His blurry vision was fully recovered, and his oceanic blues encountered the figure of the woman, that he never thought he would ever cross paths with. At the sight of her, his hues widened in both surprise and shock. ❝Rise and shine, mon cher. It took you long enough to come around.❞, her voice pointed out, accompanied by an amusing laugh. ❝Sel...yse?❞, he mumbled in confusion. “I thought you were dead. You were supposed to be dead!” ❝In the flesh, baby! Did you miss me?❞ Her brow was perked up, flashing him a playful wink. ❝Where’s the fun in being dead if I can’t watch you die first? As much as the image of my ghost haunting your miserable arse for life is tempting enough, the opportunity of sending you straight to the dogs is rather more exhilarating.❞ Having stated that coldly, at the same time the edge of her silver blade was making circles around the crack of his bare neck. ❝Your fake sassy attitude hasn’t changed a little bit.❞ He commented, staring at her contemptuously, and the irony was lingering on the husky Italian accent of his voice. ❝You’re still the same insecure, pathetic slut I used to bang. Nothing more, nothing less.❞ His venomous words inflamed a frisson of disgust in her veins. The recollection of how his filthy hands used to roam around her body every night they had sex made her sick to her stomach. She despised how she used to consider this son-of-a-bitch gangster her knight in shining armour. She hated how she used to be head over heels in love with him. What she loathed the most was that she was too blind to realize that this man was one of her father’s accessories, who had been sent in order to murder her. In fact, he never loved her. He took advantage of her. He even got her pregnant. On the day, she was about to deliver him the news of her pregnancy, that nearly costed her life and her baby. But that’s a tragic story for another time. Even though his attempts of getting under her skin infuriated her more, she wouldn’t give him the pleasure of seeing her blood boil in action. Just like she was taught in La Muerte Club, the legion of the assassins, she gathered every ounce of composure she had left within her and ended up giving him a blank look, showing no emotion at all. ❝Is that something an insecure and pathetic slut would do? ❞The dressed-in-a-black-leather-dress female exclaimed with mere enthusiasm, when she beckoned him to take a closer look at the number of the dead people around him. ❝Look around you. All of your endearing and loyal members of your gang are gone. Honestly, the joke is on you. You played and you lost.❞ ❝You bitch!!! What did you do??? Wait until I get out of here and I’ll finish what my men didn’t get to do for me. I’ll cut you piece by piece, I’ll torture you and I’ll make you plead for your life. I’ll make sure you die slowly and painfully. I swear, I’ll...❞ He screamed at the top of his lungs and his eyes were filled in hatred and rage, whilst trying to get released from the chains, which he was tied up with, to no avail. Upon the exposure of her bloodshed and his meaningless threats, her emerald orbs darkened a bit and she roved around the end of the room, searching for her lucky pair of daggers. Once Selyse found them, she headed back to him. ❝Our pep talk time is up. Let’s let the fun begin, shall we?❞, the brunette asked rhetorically. ❝On the count of three..❞., she hissed and ripped the white fabric of his shirt, with his muscular torso being fully exposed in front of her. ❝𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞, 𝐭𝐰𝐨, 𝐨𝐧𝐞...❞ In a blink of an eye, one of her daggers scratched his skin, leaving a series of fresh small wounds on every part of it. ❝This is for betraying me and working for my father, you self-righteous prick!❞, she emphasized loudly. In the meantime, her other dagger was leaded directly to his lower abdomen, stabbing him there multiple times and causing a very serious damage to his inner organs. ❝And this is for giving your sidekicks the order to beat me to death and be responsible for the miscarriage of my unborn child!❞ The hidden savage fire of anger, that was inside her light, green eyes was finally unleashing. A brand new pool of blood was forming under the floor. As his brutal torture kept on going, the silent atmosphere of the room had been replaced with his desperate pleadings for help and his howlings because of the tremendous pain. ❝No one is coming for you, Carlos. It’s over!❞ The female assassin whispered and cranked up laughing. ❝And last but not least, this is for ruining my life and the person I used to be!❞ The brunette continued saying amusingly as she showed him an empty syringe. ❝I injected a poisonous drug in your system an hour ago. As far as I know, it’s going to be drastic in a few minutes. Enjoy your last vivid moments. And now if you don’t mind me, I’ll stay there to watch you rot.❞ Sooner than expected, his hyperventilating breath became unsteady. The life of his skyish eyes was slowly taken out of them. Between his final breaths, his gaze focused on her, when he shared his last words. ❝Mark my words, bitch! There will be a retaliation for my death. It’s not over yet. You’ll burn in hell with me.❞ Titling her head to the side and wiggling her eye brow, the green-eyed woman let out a giggle. ❝In hell? Babe, I’ve already been there. And I can tell you that it’s quite a spectacular adventure. Enjoy the ride.❞ ❝I...❞, he murmured and before he was able to finish his sentence, the poison had already been spreaded throughout his entire body, taking away his pounding heartbeat. And there he was, lying dead on a wooden chair. Dead! Her biggest notorious enemy was dead! Her mission had been accomplished. A huge burden had been lifted off her shoulders. Her heart succumbed to a somewhat blissful sentiment of serenity. Before she left from here for good, Selyse turned back in order to catch a last glimpse of her biggest achievement. Her hands grasped the gasoline, and she commenced to water the corpses and every single space of the room. A lit match was thrown in there afterwards, beginning to burn everything to the ground.
