     「 No, Nico isn’t .

Image

Nico did as she was told and began to dab the damp tissue under her eyes. She definitely felt as if it was working and once she dabbed under both of her eyes she brought the tissue down before looking over at the make-up pouch the other girl held. Was she really going to do her makeup for her?

「 You know you don’t need to go that far for Nico, right ?

Image

NOT ALLERGIC TO ANYTHING? All the better. There was no amount of water that would ease that kind of swelling, after all. She produces a few products, glancing up at the other every so often before exchanging some for others. The tools of her trade rest on the table beside her before she gestures for the other to tilt her head up. "I'm not doing it for you," She replies. It's a half-truth. In the end, she had to maintain her image. Nico didn't fit into that, but. Doing a nice thing every so often wouldn't be terrible. "I just need someone to practice on is all. I have this glittery mascara I've been dying to use."

Once more she blew her nose before sitting back up straight, shaking away any sadness that still remained. Naturally there were feelings deep within she couldn’t simply shake away, but she wasn’t going to worry about those right now. She raises one hand to gently wipe away her tears before using her free hand to grab the water bottle in her bag.

Image

「 Will this do fine ?

"PERFECT." Time for her patented technique. "Pay attention, okay? I don't do this for just anyone, you know." Her tissue pack is emptied this time, each of the remaining folded into a neat square. Water bottle cap is unscrewed and pours a bit onto the corner of a tissue before setting the bottle aside. "It'd be better if this water was colder, but here. You dab under your eyes. Dab, not rub. That way it won't look all puffy." She offers the damp tissue to her, waiting for her to take it before she moves to take out her make-up pouch.

"You're not allergic to anything, right?"

     「 O-Okay

Once she had calmed herself enough to speak, Nico began to breath through her mouth. She could feel her nerves calming with with each breath, but her mind was still a twister of emotion. Even with her feelings all over the place, Nico knew better. She knew she had to at least offer the other girl her thanks for helping her even when she didn’t need to.

「 Thank you for this .           It means a lot to Nico

Image

A FEW MORE TISSUES ARE PRODUCED. "Don't forget to blow your nose. People can tell you were crying if your nose is all stuffed up later." She makes a quiet prayer to whoever it was in the sky that had calmed the other down. At least now she didn't have to get all sappy and whatever. ( She was unpracticed, but it wasn't as though it were impossible. ) "You can thank me after I fix your make-up. Now, do you have a water bottle?

Normally she would be absolutely against blowing her nose in front of someone, especially someone she barely knew, but given her current state she doesn’t care much about that. Nico nodded her head in thanks before gentle blowing her nose into the tissue. Once that was done, she took a clean one to wipe away her tears, although doing so only helped even more tears to roll down reddened cheeks.

Image

HOW WERE YOU SUPPOSED TO COMFORT A CRYING PERSON? It's been so long that she's at a loss for words. The others never cry in front of her. It is a silent agreement that they pretend that they didn't see. Crying is ugly, crying is weakness. Boys didn't like girls who cried. She knows these kinds of things can't be helped and she's mastered the art of hiding it. Nico didn't look good crying. It didn't suit her. She'd rather see her bumbling about and praying to some fairies than seeing this. "Breathe through your mouth. You'll get all red and splotchy after if you don't.

❛ uh… BRAINWASHING him? i – it’s nothing like that. ❜ she feels a bit awkward. did this girl and the others think that she and the kiznaiver group were… brainwashing him? as she had worded it. ❛ we all just got caught in… something together, really. it’s private matters however!! you probably shouldn’t ask Yuta-kun about it. ❜ she scratched her cheek.

knowing how persistent they all were about Yuta, they probably wouldn’t give up that easily. ❛ …but if Yuta-kun isn’t hanging out with you anymore, that’s more of his doing, isn’t it?

Image

MAYBE BRAINWASHING WAS THE WRONG WORD. It made her sound melodramatic, but what else could it have been? It couldn't have been that Yuta wanted to spend all his time with them out of his own volition, could it? IT COULD NEVER BE. He would never hang around such poorly dressed, ugly people. "Don't you think I thought of that, moron? I already asked him and he came up with something about how he got an injury on his wrist by accident. All of the sudden, you and all your other weirdo friends do too? What'd you do? Make him blood swear or something?

Excuse her? He didn't want to hang out with them because he chose to? That wasn't true, was it? She refuses to believe it —— ( not when she had to STARVESTARVESTARVE and bend her body into unnatural angles once after another until she was finally worthy of attention and these sluts didn't have to do shit ). "I'm going to give you five seconds to take that back."

Nico had always assumed her first kiss, with Tenga, was going to be one that was filled with all of the love they shared, but this didn’t make her happy. She knew his feelings for Chidori, so why? Why had he chosen to kiss her? Slowly she brought herself out of her negative thoughts as she spoke in a quiet voice, assuming a nod wouldn’t be enough.

     「 Okay

Image

SHE ISN'T SURE IF SHE WANTS TO ASK FOR THE DETAILS. It isn't her place in the end. It was something suited better for her friends, though to her knowledge? It wasn't like Niiyama really had a crowd to run with. Maybe that Chidori girl or the one that Yuta liked, but somehow she feels they'd both just make things worse. Of course, that might have just been her own personal bias. She takes a seat, smoothing down her skirt before digging through her purse to produce a few lilac-scented tissues. "Here."

No response, just a series of choked back tears and gentle sobs escape her petite frame. At least she’s raised her head to look at who was talking to her. She couldn’t exactly remember her name, but she knew that she was one of Yuta’s girls. Could she get away with lying? Not really, but she can’t help the subtle nod her head does in response.

Image

IT TAKES HER A MOMENT BEFORE SHE NOTICES. The tiny little nod that she does. A sigh slips out unintentionally, her shoulders dropping a margin in disbelief. It was so obvious that she wasn't. She was crying, trying to hide it, and wasn't doing a very good job if she might add. "Well, if you're okay, then can I sit here with you?" Sometimes, talking wasn't necessary. Just knowing someone was there was enough, right?

How quickly can she find a deep hole to hide herself in? Sure, she’s wanted a kiss from Tenga for a while, but not like this. This doesn’t make her happy at all.

Image

SHE MIGHT NOT HAVE LIKED HER. She might not have liked the way she dressed or even the way she looked, but even she wasn't MEAN enough to kick a girl when she was down —— ( was she ever really capable of being anything? ). "Are you okay, Niiyama?"

INDEPENDENCE.

You don’t set out to be different for its own sake; you are more easily guided by what interests and moves you. You are more concerned about what is right for you than about the pressure to fit in. In sex you are more aware than others of impulses which are not entirely conventional. You know the value of selective irresponsibility, of forgetting occasionally about being ‘good’.

SENSITIVITY.

You have delicate, sensitive perceptions; you can be deeply moved by appearances – the right light in a room, or good food, or the texture of a piece of clothing. Expressive, intelligent language has a powerful hold on you; your mind works better when it is inspired and provoked by vivid imagery. It can be sad to live in a world which is often so ugly and not properly looked after. But you know that things can be otherwise, and you have the ability to appreciate the world at its best.

DEFENSIVENESS.

One tendency in you – which is of course normal to the human race – is to bristle when criticised, and to defend yourself when you feel under threat from aggression or blame. Defensiveness can make you conceal your less honourable motives, from others, and from yourself. The habits once made sense: they all derive from past efforts to protect yourself. And most of the time – because we don’t get much help in loving ourselves – you still need them to feel secure.

\o/ Coming from a plant lover; what if instead of apologizing to the plants for using their blooms, she instead thanked them for making such beauties to place in her hair? I don't know, it's your muse! I think she's super cute, but it seems a little backwards to apologize for taking the bloom for her decorative self instead of thanking them if she honestly appreciates them. It's like the plant gifts her with it's prettiest bloom each day to show her the appreciation for her taking care of them.

image
that’s super cute, tbqh! I’ll probably make that a thing. I originally had her apologize because she feels bad clipping off a part of them. I think your reasoning is a lot cuter though, so I’m gonna change it! Thanks for sharing, sweetie!
